Les Terrasses sur Seine

😊: Les Terrasses sur Seine is all about location, location, location! It is perfectly situated in a quiet district just a short walk from the centre of Vernon. It's main feature is a large, comfortable first floor terrace from which the Seine, and its boating traffic can be viewed. We virtually lived on this! The interior of the property is not large but is perfectly adequate for a holiday stay. We were a party of three and were very comfortable. The ensuite shower and washbasin to one bedroom was a bonus. Our host, Pascal, was one of the best hosts we have come across. He was attentive without being intrusive. He dealt with our booking and answered queries promptly and gave us some brilliant ideas for places to eat and sights to visit in the surrounding area. We particularly enjoyed "Fleur du Seine" - a great range of tasty galettes and crepes, with a good drinks and wine list all reasonably priced. It is just a short walk along the Seine from the apartment and also has a terrace overlooking the river. We got our breakfast from Esybel Boulangerie that is also walking distance - nearby on Avenue de Paris - where the owner was very attentive. We chose Les Terrasses as we wanted to visit nearby Giverny and Monet's Garden. It was a perfect base for this but we were blown away by Vernon itself with its medieval buildings and vibrant street café culture. In many ways we preferred it to the overcrowded experience of Giverny.. 😢: Whilst one bedroom has an ensuite shower and there is a large bathroom (bath, over-bath shower and wash basin) there is only one (separate) toilet. This was not a problem for us but could be for a larger party. This is a very minor quibble and would definitely not stop us returning to Les Terrasses..

😊: Pascal was amazing, he gave us a welcome gift of the local cider and accommodated our every need throughout the stay. He offered us pears from the garden and recommendations on places close by to eat, was very thorough with showing us around the apartment and showing us how to use the jacuzzi, very helpful and kind. The apartment was exactly as the images showed, clean, comfortable, we made use of the kitchen which was well equipped perfect for 3 people. The views were lovely and jacuzzi was great, well received after a long day of travelling. Close to the town and local amenities, within walking distance of the train station. Pascal kindly let us leave our luggage on the last day so we could make the most of our last day in Vernon and met us with it at the train station before leaving, a lovely, helpful host, we will be back again in the future.. 😢: Nothing, everything was great.

😊: The location is on the Seine and close to good shops and restaurants. The accommodation is comfortable and the terrace is well furnished.
