LILLE hypercentre "MARIA" Apartment PALACE

Great location. Very clean

Not as clean as you'd expect for a holiday rental. Parking is listed as "convenient onsite parking", to clarify, this is paid public parking nearby, but by no means onsite. Property had exposed screws protruding under the kitchen door frame. There were missing tiles in the kitchen, leaving sharp edges. Paint peeling away in the bathroom. Missing tile in the bathroom with exposed electrics. Refused to stay for the second night of our booking (arrived too late on the first day to find alternate accomodation), have only received a partial refund.

This apartment is a wonderful place to stay! Situated at a two minute walk from the Lille Flandres train station. The neighboorhood is lively but not run down. I would have been fine walking around there in the middle of the night, which is not the case in a lot of other cities I've been to. The apartment building is rather nondescript, but well kept and it has an elevator. The apartment is located on the third floor. The apartment itself looks brandnew, has a beautiful interior (I loved the warm stone floor!) and is absolutely spotlessly clean! There's everything you need: two large rooms, very good quality mattresses and a comfy, heavy blanket, a rain shower, bathing products provided, a huge bathing towel, even a washing machine. There are a lot of restaurants and also a school next door, but the windows keep out the noise extremely well. We did not use the ktchen but it looked completely furbished and is nicely decorated. The TVs are connected to the internet. We didn't use them but there would have been Netflix, Disney+, ... The wi-fi worked fine. Both the owner and the housekeeper were very friendly, responsive and helpful. I needed to advance the time for checkout which was no problem whatsoever. Summing it up, I highly recommend staying here! (Oh, and while you're in Lille, stop at the bakery Meert and get some of their incredible waffles. ;) )
