Loft barn in the Breton marshes of Vendée - Pets welcome

A delightful place to stay - Yvette and her husband were kindness itself and left local produce and wine for me. I felt very safe abd cherished

It was a bit tricky to find but the gite was lovely - one large, spacious room except for a tiny shower. Well maintained except for a bit of a problem with drains ( a bit smelly). We were a bit unlucky because the owners were away on holiday. I think a few small issues would have been dealt with had they been on site.

The studio is spacious, comfortable and very well equipped. We really enjoyed our week staying here. Yvette and Daniel are lovely hosts and took us on a tour of the locality when we arrived in their vintage Jaguar. We enjoyed Yvette's homemade jam and her homegrown herbs. The washing machine did not work when we arrived but was replaced with a new one the following day. The only negative comment we would make is that the shower cubicle is rather compact; luckily we are fairly small so it was not a problem for us! It is an excellent area for cycling and the location is convenient for visiting the Ile de Noirmoutier, L'Ile d'Yeu and the resorts of the Vendee coast. We enjoyed an excellent meal at La Pit'chounette in the nearby village of Saint-Gervais, including tasting some of the 28 cheeses on their cheeseboard!

This barn conversation was a beautiful place to stay, the owners Yvette & Daniel were so welcoming, they had thought of everything that we would need for an enjoyable stay including fresh vegetables from the garden and free range eggs .The accommodation was ideal for the dogs with lots of space, we would highly recommend staying here and would love to return again next year.
