😊: The gite was clean, well equipped and ideally situated for visiting many of the chateaux in the Loire, Cher and Indrois valleys. The gite is set in the centre of the owner's forest with their own house nearby. The location is very calm, peaceful and private, and it was easy to sleep late, especially with such a comfortable bed! Catherine and her husband Xavier and later their daughter, Hortense, who also lives close by, made us very welcome and we enjoyed an early evening aperitif with them during our stay when we were treated to the sight of a magnificent stag with huge antlers which stood proudly guarding one of the does from his harem that was feeding at the edge of our clearing.
