😊: The fake candle. 😢: The first sign that this was a bad choice came with the request for a €150 deposit on the day of check-in. It was mentioned in the description, so it’s my fault for not paying attention—but still, it’s quite unusual for Booking.com. After paying, I went to the place, and as soon as I entered, the smell of burnt plastic filled the air. The neighbourhood was burning something right outside, in the garden just below the bedroom window, which was open. The apartment itself is much smaller than it looks in the photos and feels almost suffocating. The bathroom door is just a movable wooden panel that barely separates the bed from the bathroom. After regretting my choice, I decided to take a shower to forget my life decisions—but there was no hairdryer. When I asked the owner, he simply said it had been stolen, without offering any solution. After making sure the window was properly closed, I left the apartment. When I came back later, the smell of sewage from the toilet had filled the entire studio. I slept with the window open, hoping the neighbours wouldn’t burn anything else in the morning. The night was awful; you can hear everything from the corridor. I rented this place for two nights because I was attending a concert at the Arkea Arena, which is fairly close. But it wasn’t worth it—Bordeaux is small and well connected, so there’s really no reason to stay in Floirac for a concert. The first night I stayed in a much better apartment near the station for the same price. Please, be smart—don’t pick this one..
