Luxueuse villa d'architecte vue panoramique mer et cap canaille

A wonderful stay in a most spectacularly sited house. We especially enjoyed the huge terrace with swimming pool and table tennis table (with bats and balls!). The panoramic views from the house are stunning- Cassis and the harbour, vineyards and the fabulous Cap Canaille.

The villa turned out to be up for sale - clearly the condition of the property was being run down to minimise costs. Multiple light bulbs had failed and were not replaced. Fittings were coming off the wall. Some of the lower floor bedrooms were stripped of all furniture other than the beds (the children described them as ‘prison cells’). There was limited useful equipment in the kitchen (eg 2 mugs). The master bedroom shower floor was loose and dangerous (I had to temporarily repair it). The lower floor of the villa was split and half was occupied by a long term let who were noisy and their garden was just below the main patio (none of this was identified in the marketing material), there was an electrical buzzing in the lower floor that kept the children awake. The pool was dirty, due to be cleaned Wednesday morning - we chased and eventually the owner finished the cleaning process Thursday night (so was in and out of the villa). The BBQ ran out of gas after two short uses and was replaced 2 days later - no spare / no check. The access to the parking was very tight. Overall, it appeared as if this property had not been inspected by Vrbo for some time. If we had paid £3,000 for this villa we would have been disappointed. Imagine how we feel after spending £7,500 for our last family holiday (our children are leaving home). In our opinion it was mis-sold. We have certainly lost confidence in using Vrbo, who we previously thought were a premium service provider.

The view of the natural beauty of Cassis from this house is absolutely spectacular. The photos accurately represent this stunningly beautiful property. The host is responsive and supportive. The house is at the peak of one of the hillsides, hence the fabulous views. The marina and town of Cassis are walkable if you are a good hiker. Driving and parking in the various paid parking lots is also easy if you are not up to the steep climb home after dinner. I highly recommend this property for the beautiful home and stunning views.
