Maison Calma avec jardin, Centre & Gare à pied

😊: I booked this apartment for its prime central location in the town which proved to be ideal for walking out to the shops restaurants and bars. I also wanted parking for my car and this was available in the garage underneath the apartment. The rooms in the apartment were clean, light and airy and of a good size. Overall, the apartment and its kitchen was well equipped and comfortable. There was also a garden available for use. The owner is very pleasant and we noticed a problem with accessing TV channels and this was quickly resolved.. 😢: The apartment is accessed through the downstairs garage via a lockable door to a small lobby with an unlockable door to the garden and then via a staircase to the main apartment door which was also unlockable. To me, this presented a real security issue. The description on the Booking.com that the apartment had air-conditioning was misdescribed as it only had one portable air fan unit in the lounge (see photo attached). During the heatwave, the apartment was like an oven and definitely did not have air-conditioning as one knows it. At night, it was impossible to sleep as the bedroom and its window overlooked a road which was quite busy and in addition to this, there is a bright street lamp next to the window. The weather with the heatwave was most exceptional and the accommodation was stifling with the heat and it was this reason we decided to leave one day early and not to fulfil our stay. Taking all of the above comments into account, I would award the accommodation a rating of 7 out of 10 which would be improved by the owner addressing the security concerns and providing proper, and efficient air-conditioning to the lounge and more importantly to the bedroom..
