😊: Location is nice close to mang amenities, owner were friendly.. 😢: The owner was kind, responsive, and genuinely tried to help throughout our stay. However, there were several significant issues that greatly impacted our overall experience during our two-week booking. Upon arrival, the heating was not working, and we spent the first night and following day in a very cold house until temporary electric heaters were provided. Before check-in, I had specifically confirmed through Booking.com messages that the property had a washing machine, but upon arrival I was informed that there was none. This resulted in frequent trips to laundromats to wash clothes, towels, and bed linens during our stay. The most serious issue was the plumbing. After using the upstairs bathtub, wastewater overflowed into the downstairs shower area and kitchen floor. The problem later worsened, with dirty, foul-smelling water backing up whenever the toilet was flushed or the shower was used. This made basic sanitary facilities difficult to use and was particularly challenging as we were travelling with two young children. The property itself is acceptable for a short stay of a few nights, but I found it less suitable for a longer stay such as our two-week booking. The house is quite old and appears to have undergone several DIY-style renovations to refresh its appearance. There were also missing privacy curtains in some areas. In addition, the property is not entirely private, as the backyard and main entrance is shared with a small studio that is also rented out. It’s also next to the train station so the train noise will not be suitable for those who are sensitive. I also want to mention that obtaining a refund for unused nights was not straightforward. Although we ultimately received a refund for the nights we did not stay, this only happened after considerable discussions and persistence with Booking.com. The process was much more difficult than expected..

😊: The lounge space was nice and the building was very attractive from the outside/had a lovely little garden. Nice to be outside of central Versailles but so close to porchefontain station so it’s super easy to get around.. 😢: It’s just a bit old and knackered, lots of diy in terms of the finish and everything a bit scruffy. Electric sockets look dangerous as they’re all loose, the shower is downstairs in the basement with the kitchen and the shower room door doesn’t close properly, there’s nowhere to hang your towel - the room smells of damp and the shower head was mouldy. Kitchen is fine and bright. Bedrooms ok but no sockets near the bed. Nice area but two doors down there was a party that went on until 4am and then someone tried to get into the property at 4:30am which was very strange (older lady who left her car idling outside and drove away after I stuck my head out of the window). Clean towels and bedding smelled very clean (although there was a stain on one of the sheets). It did the job but on reflections seems really rather expensive for what we got. Also didn’t realise that there was another property at the bottom of the garden that was also being rented out, would be good to know that ahead of booking!).
