😊: It was spacious and clean. 😢: Nothing it was exactly what we were after..

😊: Large house on 2 floors on the main street of the village of Charly sur Marne. We rented it because we had some family matters to attend, a place that we could, eventually consider to put up more family members if needed. We didn't need to. The house has been renovated, all in tones of white, grey, white. Plenty of space. It is clean with everything you need to cook if needed. The village hasn't much to offer to eat out (only a kebab place on the same main street for take away, that we found very friendly, food is clean and plentiful), and a small shop where you can find decent wine (try the Cambras, great value for good quality wine). Bedrooms are on the street side, so a bit of traffic noise early morning. Easy parking on the main street opposite the house. A good base to do some champagne tasting.. 😢: The powerful smell of drains. Not nice. We wrote to the owner about this, so that he can take care of the issue in a more appropriate way. Shower door in the downstairs bathroom not closing properly..

😊: The property is in a small village street with some free parking. The house is on 2 floors with one bedroom and one bathroom downstairs. Upstairs there are 2 very comfortable double bedrooms and one bedroom decorated for children with 2 single beds. Both shower rooms are large, the toilets are inside the shower rooms. The house was very clean and recently decorated. The kitchen was well-equipped with a large fridge/freezer.. 😢: The property listing specified "Free on-site parking is available" which is one of the reasons why we chose this property however we were made to park in the street. The small enclosed terrace at the back of the house is the only outdoor space. The plumbing made a noise throughout the night disturbing those sleeping upstairs. There wasn't enough comfortable seating in the salon for 8 people - the 2 sofas could accommodate 3 people each at most. The bottom tray in the fridge door was broken and therefore unusable. The downstairs shower door on one side did not close properly..
