Good communication with the host before our visit. Helpful directions. An interesting house with lovely pool. Peaceful slightly isolated location which we didn't mind. Slightly old fashioned bed linen & duvets and no welcoming note. Although we were familiar with the area it might be helpful for visitors who are not to have a list of places to visit...? We enjoyed our stay and would use VRBO again. Au revoir.
Absolutely perfect. A beautiful house surrounded by countryside. If you love the sound of silence with beautiful views then this is for you.
This is a great location for a group / family get together. It is remote and rustic. Do not expect all the mod cons, this is a 200 year old farmhouse. Wi-Fi is sketchy at best and there are plenty of cobwebs and insects….you are in the country!! We did have a bit of a problem locating towels, subbed a, parasols etc. but a visit from the housekeeper solved the issue quickly. There was also an issue with the pool, the water went green over a few days, again a call to the housekeeper saw her immediately attend to give the water some ‘shock’ chemicals. Happy to recommend to anyone interested in booking.
Lovely house with large garden and spacious interior. Great communication with owner, and everything was clean and cozy when we arrived. The beds are comfortable, linen and towels are provided. We stayed in early April. I would imagine that this property is amazing in summer. In early spring the landscape is only beginning to wake up from being barren, and the pool was not filled on this occasion due to earlier maintenance work and low water levels. We definitively had more fun lounging around the garden and exploring the neighbourhood on sunny days, and had wanted a pool. The house is in the middle of nowhere - which is lovely if you love peace and quiet, but if you want easy access to shops and nightlife this property is not ideal for you. Similarly, as this is a rural property in a part of France that largely embraces organic agricultural practices there are a lot of creatures around. If you have a beetle phobia, or dislike cute dormice or toads you won't like it here! If you love nature, this is a fantastic spot for you. It is great for stargazing and we slept like logs. We did a lot of driving - Brantome (30 minutes) and Sarlat (1.5 hours) are highly recommended, as well as Bordeaux (1.5 hrs) and Arcachon and Cap Ferret (2.2 hours but well worth the journey). Overall I can warmly recommend this place. We had a great holiday here, and I would like to come back in summer to experience it in its full glory.
Easy to book, great communication and simple check-in. Beautiful old house with lots of space inside and out. Great location for discovering Charente and Dordogne. Verteillac is a friendly town.
Schon die Anfahrt zum Haus war ein Genuss, kleine Straßen ziehen sich durch Sonnenblumen- und Getreidefelder. Von außen uneinsehbar liegt das Haus auf einer kleinen Anhöhe, man hat hierdurch einen wunderschönen Blick in die Landschaft. Das alte Taubenzüchterhaus wurde liebevoll renoviert und hat sich seinen ursprünglichen Charme erhalten. Außen und innen sind immer wieder schöne bauliche Kleinigkeiten und neue Ausblicke zu entdecken. Auf dem riesigen Grundstück lassen sich durch den alt eingewachsenen Baumbestand überall schattige Plätzchen finden. Das Haus ist gemütlich eingerichtet und die große Küche lädt durch die wohl sortierten Utensilien zum Kochen ein. Der Pool ist groß und gepflegt, ein Tor sichert bei kleineren Kindern. Die Begleitinformationen für Unternehmungen in der Umgebung wurden schon vorab verschickt und waren sehr informativ und reichhaltig. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Es gibt noch so vieles zu entdecken!
Une superbe maison, un beau jardin, une grande piscine et une vue magnifique sur la campagne. Des vacances au calme dans un bel endroit! Un peu loin de tout mais parfait pour le repos.
Croix Chabrol ist ein echtes Schmuckstück im Perigord Vert. Ausreichend Platz im Haus, wie auf dem Grundstück haben zu siebt wir den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Von hier aus lässt sich die Region wunderbar erschließen. Wobei ein paar von uns, ob des sehr schönen Wetters, doch eher den großzügig dimensionierten Pool genossen haben. Croix Chabrol hat es in einer Woche geschafft, für uns ein Sehnsuchtsort zu werden.
