Maison de caractére 18°siécle "Les Cédres"

We had a wonderful stay in Andelot-Blancheville. Friendly people welcomed us and were close by if needed. The house "The Cedars" breathes history and the wooden floors upstairs have a very pleasant smell. The bathroom on the first floor is new with a comfortable shower. Great clean swimming pool with hardly any chlorine. We enjoyed the spacious garden, the (almost ripe) plums and of course the practical gas barbecue.

Had a wonderful week in Andelot-Blancheville. We were met by Bernadette and taken through the property and shown where everything was. It is a charming house very much in the French style but has great modern extras, the fantastic HEATED swimming pool being the highlight. We had a large clean gas bbq too which was great. The downstairs bathroom is a little dated but was clean and practical. The upstairs shower room is modern. The only downside was the flies (which is out of everyone's control) luckily we brought umbrella food covers with us and purchased hanging fly killers while there. Other than that we we had a lovely week and would recommend going.

Outside was welcoming with good pool however the inside was disappointing. Upstairs the shower was "out of service" which should have been mentioned beforehand. The toilet in the same bathroom was VERY smelly and unpleasant. If one used the upstairs toilet (perhaps at night) one had to walk past 3 bedrooms, hallway, down two sets of stone stairs through the hall,dining room,sitting room, kitchen and toilet inorder to wash hands in the downstairs bathroom. Most unhygenic especially with a family. For the number of people this home sleeps, one usable bathroom is not sufficient and there was no washbasin in the toilet. The kitchen lighting was inadequate. The gas hob in the corner is badly placed next to the microwave and only one person could stand there. The hob light did not work nor did the extractor hood above the gas hob. Some utensils had cobwebs and dishes needed cleaning before use. This is understandable as there were so many utensils that not everything would have been used each time. It would have been nice to have had the fly catchers replaced rather than have to go out and buy some and replace them ourselves (not knowing what to look for) as there appeared to be lots of flies. The BBQ was not clean and my husband spent quite a time trying to rectify this before use. As we were not able to open the app sent to us, we were not aware that we needed to provide linen and towels. This was not a problem as we were were able to hire from the lady who gave us the key. We have rented property in France for many years, often with 10 members and have never needed to complain or comment so it was rather disappointing this time. It would also have been a nice gesture to have a few essentials on the table for arrival. There was also an absence of any literature regarding working of equipment so it was trial and error. We would be obliged if you would return our deposit as soon as possible and with a discount. Sincerely John and Hilary Figge

A lovely old French house with lots of character. Great heated pool with plenty of garden to relax in. We had a wonderful relaxing stay. We received a great welcome and would love to return.
