This was our second time staying at Patrick's place. This is a very special place. The Gers is a great place in itself and La Romieu might be the prettiest little town in the region. The setting of the house is also fantastic. Watching the sun set over the fields from the pool will never get old. The location is very private and extremely quiet. Perfect for a break from busy city life. Patrick is an excellent and communicative host. We are already contemplating our return!

The property is fantastic and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It is a fantastic property, impressively large with huge bedrooms but perhaps in need of some minor modernising. However, it was perfect for the purpose of our stay which was to relax and unwind. The pool is amazing.

What a fantastic place to unwind and to take in the fantastic countryside around La Romieu. This property offers a sense of seclusion but is really close enough to any amenity that we needed. The house itself is great and accurately represented. The grounds, gardens, pool and views are spectacular. We are already contemplating our return!

We spend a wonderfull time in this beautiful place! We had a nice holiday on the domain, beautiful views, fantastic pool, all the accommodation that is needed. What a fantastic place. The location is also very good: near a very nice village La Romieu with a good bakery and 2 restaurants ...

Forget about Provence with its chic reputation. The South West of France is the real thing. Although we have lived in France several times and have toured all over the country for decades, we had never been to the Gers (pronounced Gerz) nor any part of the South West. What an eye-opener. This is the way France was back in the 60's when we first began our love affair with our second country. And this house happens to be the BEST one we have ever rented. It is especially well situated on a hill overlooking rolling fields of hay, sunflowers and corn. Although the sun raised the temperature to 90+ F. during the days, the nights were cool enough to use sheets and covers in bed. The house's 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are large and comfortable. All the appliances are top notch and work well without any anxiety about using them. There are even 2 refrigerators, one for food and the other for drinks. The owners are very accommodating and were in immediate phone or e mail contact with us if we had a question about anything. The nearest town, La Romieu, has a UNESCO marked Collegiale church from the 14th century which is a fabulous site to visit. The town has a wonderful boulangerie with excellent bread and pastries and also a small epicerie and wine store combined. There are two restaurants, one of which also serves as the town's bar/café. There is also a very good tennis court run by the local camping grounds for the public and is inexpensive. The house's pool is large and the water was warm due to the hot days. We shared the house with our daughters, their husbands and grandchildren, a total of 8 but were very comfortable because of the size of the rooms. There is plenty of room for parking and the house is about 25 minutes away from major towns with markets and supermarkets (Condom, Fleurance and Lectoure) and 30 minutes from 3 towns with the Most Beautiful Villages In France award (Montreal, Larressingles and Fources.) Two weeks was not enough time to spend here and we look forward to returning soon.

We -two families from England and Germany (4 adults, 5 boys from age 2 to 13) spent two perfect weeks at the house. The photos are reality. The property is beautifully situated within sunflower fields, the sunset is just in front of the house, so sunset-dinner outside on the big table was just perfect. We spent our days mostly with having Barbecue, eating outside, playing with the Kids, jumping into the pool, once in a while exploring villages and cities within one-hour drive. (Capital of Gascogne Auch is nice!) The house is spacious and very well equipped. The pool was perfectly warm, most of our time we spent in it. It has an electrical cover for the night or when not in use, which was perfect for the safety of the little ones. The village La Romieu is 4 km away (so you must have a car). It is a beautiful village. Big supermarkets are in Condom (also a nice gascoign city, 10 min-drive). We rented this house,, because we were looking for a spacious comfortable place, situated in a beautiful landscape, where nobody would bother us and the children could play freely. We found it. So we all nine recommend a stay here, if you are searching for the same. It surely is also perfect for people who love hiking. Altogether: 5 star recommendation
