Maison traditionnelle Chatelaillonnaise, 2 ch, grand jardin,10 mn plage à pied

Das Haus bietet alles, was man für den Urlaub braucht: eine gut ausgestattete Küche, ausreichend Platz zum Essen und einen schönen Wohnbereich. Sehr gute Betten. Und vor allem einen schattigen, ruhigen Garten, der nicht einsehbar ist. Das haben wir bei der Hitze sehr genossen. Bäcker, Apotheke und Supermarkt sind fussläufig erreichbar. Ebenso der Strand und der Bahnhof. François und Marie-Pierre haben uns sehr herzlich empfangen, hatten auch den ein oder anderen Ausflugstipp für uns und waren bei Bedarf jederzeit erreichbar. Gerne wieder!

We really enjoyed our stay, the owners were wonderful and so helpful. The main bed wasn’t great so we ended up sleeping in the two twin beds but other than that everything was perfect. Wonderful garden, plancha for cooking our wonderful seafood meals. Bikes are available on the property and we made full use of them and the boulangerie and town centre with an indoor daily market (with amazing fresh seafood stalls) was amazing. Thank you Francois for a lovely couple of weeks at your house in Chatelaillon-Plage. The house is well positioned, and a short distance from a delightful town, which we found great pleasure walking around throughout our stay. We loved the garden, as did our dog, with plenty of places to sit either in the sun or shade, and the fig tree at the bottom of the garden provided plenty of delicious fruit for breakfast. With La Rochelle a short drive away, and plenty of other interesting places to visit within easy distance, we look forward to returning next year. Keith & Sharon

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house in Chatelaillon Plage. The house is well-situated, with an excellent boulangerie a few minutes walk away, as is the local Tourism Office and the railway station which is very handy. It also only takes a few minutes to get to the beach. The house has every thing you need for a short holiday, and has a lovely garden with trees. The garden is well-equipped - a parasol and dining table/chairs, armchairs and also sun loungers and a barbecue. The owners were extremely amiable, kind and helpful, even offering to collect us from the airport. All in all, a very enjoyable week!

We had a fantastic stay in Chatelaillon. The house is exactly as described with a secure spacious garden, all very clean and well maintained and furnished, nothing is missing. The beds were made on arrival and towels were provided which is definitely a bonus as it saves a lot of space when packing. There is also a washing machine which is great especially with small children. The owners Mr & Mrs Gilbert were very friendly from our first enquiry to our departure. The house is ideally located in the centre of Chatelaillon, a couple of minutes walk to the tourist office, 5 mins walk to the funfair and 10 mins walk to the beach which is very safe for the kids. The house is also perfectly located to explore the area as most things are less than 1 hour drive away. We visited the old town of Saintes and its amphitheatre, Ile D'Oleron, La Rochelle (which has a great aquarium in case of rain but book tickets on advance to avoid the queues), Ile de Re (especially St Martin de Re and its donkeys in pyjamas), Cognac (and its castle which houses Baron Otard Cognac), La Palmyre Zoo (fantastic, you can feed the giraffes, elephants, zebras and goats, buy popcorn at the entrance). There so much to do in Chatelaillon (night market on Sunday night, large market on Tuesdays and Fridays, free fitness classes on the beach every morning, good selection of beach bars and restaurants, free cinema for kids at beausejour every day at 3pm, free kids shows Wednesdays behind the mini golf, concerts on Tuesday night, sailing activities, outdoor heated swimming pool etc...) or around (such as Royan, cruises to the islands (Ile d'Aix and Ile Madame)), we haven't had time to do it all in 2 weeks!
