Maison villageoise de charme, entre Nîmes et Uzès, avec piscine.

We loved our stay in this well-equipped rustic home with it's delightful outdoor spaces. Make sure to bring bath/swim towels however, as none are provided.

The house is very well situated in the lively village of Blauzac which had two major festivals on over the two weekends we stayed there. The village only has two places to eat/drink and they're not wonderful but they're OK and just a few minutes walk from the house. The pool was good although there were only a couple of the reclining chairs that weren't broken, certainly not enough for a house that is supposed to sleep so many people. The parasol was broken and did not reappear during our time there. The interior of the house was dingy and badly lit with old furniture and dark, mismatched bed linen. There is no air conditioning and the house was very hot - our son slept downstairs all week and we ended up buying fans to get any sleep. However, our main complaint was that when we arrived, the house was so dirty! I emailed the owner and she responded immediately, apologised and sent round her local representative who basically told us that it was an old house and what did we expect! There were huge cobwebs everywhere, there was a tiny decomposing scorpion in a web in the kitchen and huge "tumble weeds" of dust and hair on nearly every stair. The kitchen windowsill was thick with dirt and grease. The sink was dirty. When I showed her the barbecue grill which was thick with someone else's burnt-on grease, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "I don't bother with that it's for men!" This house is not expensive, it is well situated but it needs some smartening up and a new cleaner!

My family had a wonderful stay for 2 weeks in this amazing French home in April. The owner was friendly and professional. The caretaker was approachable and assisted us in every way. The home was comfortable, warm and inviting. All equipment /hot water/ swimming pool were functional and we had a carefree time. We would recommend this wonderful, warm, friendly home to all our friends and family. Thank you for your great French hospitality. We will return!
