Moulin au Bord de l'Eau Calme et Nature

😊: The village is charming. Surrounding nature is calming. Unfortunatly it was our worst experience with booking.com since ever. The place looks much worse that on the pictures shown on the website. The kitchen equipment is old and ugly. The cooker operates on gas from the cylinder that seems to me extremely dangerous when is used by people that are not aquainted to such kind of apliances. We didn't dare to use it. We wanted to use electric kettle, but we resigned when we saw how much sticky it was. On the sink there are 3 bottles of partialy used washing up liquid and a horrible sponge that probably houses milions of germs... The bathroom is basic, without any rack to hang your towel. Someone left there for us a rest of soap bar... The apartment is on the ground floor of a nice old house but we felt like in the basement. The floor was made in terazzo, very old, full of black spots on the corners. At the entrance we were welcome by a bucket and a mop, in the bedroom we had a company of a hoover. We could not lock the entrance door - something was simply out of order.. 😢: Well, if the above was all what happened to us there I would not leave any comment. I understand that in some regions people can not afford refurbishing their houses and try just to earn a little money with tourist. I would not go to spoil their business. But there were some other circumstances that are hard to accept. We made a booking onThursday for the one night stay on Sunday. Friday morning we received the mail with a kind invitation and information: Dear Traveler, Please note that bed linen and towels are not provided. However, you will find blankets and a bath mat at your disposal. So I came back to booking.com to check how I could not spot such an important notice. But there was no warning: bring your towels and bed linen with you. It is true takt there was now information that towels and bed linen were provided, but is it not the standard to provide them? I think that it should be cleary stated in the anouncement. So I have written to the host that I could bring towels but not the bed linen and she (Laura) answered me she would supply bed linen. Unfortunatly she responded me on Saturday when we had already left our house with towels and bed linen in our luggage. Sunday morning we recived another e-mail with the house rules: "Empty the two bins; Clean the equipment you used in the kitchen: Dishes, clean, dried and stored; worktop, table- oven- fridge- gas... Bathroom - clean: WC- Shower- Sink; Tidy room as you found it... Otherwise, I will be forced to charge you for cleaning." Does it mean that apartment is cleaned by tourist not by the profesionals? Is WC not desinfected? Why there was no warning on the anouncement on booking.com about house rules? We have left the apt. in the perfect condition as we decided not to drink any coffe there neither to take a shower. We drove in the mornig with the idea to forget this night as soon as possible....
