Mulberry tree cottage at Château de la Giraudière between Angers and Saumur

Gîte très agréable, très bien équipé. La literie est très confortable. L’environnement est magnifique. Accueil chaleureux des propriétaires, très à l’écoute. Le feu de cheminée préparé en cette saison automnale était plus qu’agréable. Très bon souvenir de note grand week-end en famille.

This is a fantastic place to stay, especially if you have a young family. The location was great, the perfect base from which to explore Angers, Saumur, The Loire Valley and even Puy Du Fou. Catherine and Phillipe were fantastic hosts. They made us feel like part of their family. If I could I would give them 6 stars!

We, 2 adults & 2 boys (10&13) stayed for a week in the cottage & were as happy as clams. The cottage was lovely & spacious & had everything we needed for a holiday. (Even the cat came around to visit our garden every now & then which made us v happy.) Though beware of low ceiling height in the loft, which of course didn’t cause any problems for the kids but adults need to remember to duck when up there. The shared pool was perfect & we mainly had it to ourselves! The neighbourhood is very pretty & there is lots to keep one occupied & several nice restaurants within a short drive. The hostess Catherine is wonderful, very helpful & communicative. We can thoroughly recommend a stay & would love to return.

A peaceful week in a quiet rural locale. Comfortable property, well equipped (though a washing machine might be a useful addition). Welcoming hosts, superb pool, lovely private grounds and no more than 10-15 mins from civilisation. Would come again for certain.

We loved our stay. The cottage is adorable. The perfect setup for our family of four. We enjoyed the pool, fishing in the pond, grilling and spending time outside. It was the perfect spot for exploring the region and Catherine’s recommendations were just perfect. Overall, a wonderful experience. By the time we left our boys were asking if we could live there!

My family and I stayed in the Mûrier cottage which was just perfect for us. The cottage was simply charming with a very well-equipped kitchen and beautifully decorated living room. The hosts are lovely and extremely helpful! Delicious baguettes and croissants are available for ordering in the morning...The children loved the swimming pool...The area is ideally located to make trips. We visited several 'chateaux' and did a birdspotting boat trip on the beautiful Loire river...We wouldn't have minded staying longer!
