Nuits au Grenier de Chartres

😊: Verg central comfortable apartment, perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed the breakfast that was provided, was very thoughtful.. 😢: The wifi reception was terrible..

😊: Lovely location in old part of town. Perfectly adequate apartment for couple of nights.. 😢: Really felt the supplied breakfast could have been more. Consisted of a muesli and not very appetising toast or rolls. Jam was nice but some fruit and/or Yoghurt would have made for a better breakfast. Coffee not very nice. Was good to have real milk instead of that long life stuff. It didn't bother us, but for information purposes the staircase is narrow and windy, so not suitable for people with impaired mobility or big suitcases..

😊: A fabulous locatioon- close to the cathedral on a @ looped” walk that the host, Pierre, showed us. After seeing the light show, we walked it and stumbled on a fine restaurant… “ Le Moulin Pontoise”. We knew we could do with a bit of luxury before sleeping in the attic with a fan( as there’s no air conditioning). The attic feels genuinely medieval and, after a good night’s sleep we all agreed that even though there was a heatwave the experience was worthwhile. The host was particularly pleasant( had told us we could keep the two fans on all night but, in fact, we only used one.There were some basics in the fridge and a very good coffee machine which was nice too. All in all, we delighted with our stay one night stay…. 😢: Well, bear in mind that the attic is high up, the third floor.. so there are some steps to climb!.

😊: Location, character, price, friendly welcoming owner, well provided for flat (tea/coffee/bread/milk/butter), well heated, cosy, comfy beds. FYI, it's one separate bedroom and one bed in the living area room. It's at the top of a 500 year old property overflowing with character, which we loved! Merci! X. 😢: Nothing! All great 😀.

Exceptionnel<br>#128578; Tout d'abord, l'accueil de Pierre, très sympa qui a pris la peine de nous garder une place de parking. L'appart, situé tout près de l'église Saint Pierre et à quelques dizaines de metres de la cathédrale, permet de déambuler dans le centre ville. Appart très bien équipé, atypique et chaleureux. Ne vous laissez pas rebuter par les 2 étages,(nous avons 65 ans et nous les avons gravis sans difficulté) c'est le prix à payer pour accéder à ce petit douillet.

Romantic apartment in a great...<br>#128578; Such helpful hosts, ensured we fully understood the property and the local area. The apartment itself is classically quirky and French with views over to the cathedral and the medieval roof tops. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of the old town but with parking nearby. So easy to go out for an evening stroll to see the illuminations and then straight back out again in the morning for a look round the cathedral.<br>#128577; It wasn't a problem for us but the apartment is on the second floor and the staircase is narrow, this all adds to its romantic appeal but would be a significant problem if you have mobility issues. Similarly, the apartment has several different floor levels, all very cute but no good if you can't move about easily.

I had asked him about my father being imprisoned during WWII, by the Nazis and before we got there he found out exactly where he was. He took us to the exact spot! So kind.<br>#128577; If you have any mobility issues the steps are pretty steep.
