On the Ile de Ré, charming double Villa comfortably furnished & secure pool

Maison parfaite pour une grande famille (3 generations): lumineuse, confortable et pratique. La grande pièce de vie avec sa cheminée et la salle de jeu compensent en ce temps de Noel le fait de ne pas trop profiter du grand jardin. Un très bon séjour.

Magnifique séjour dans cette superbe maison de vacances très bien adaptée aux enfants. La répartition des chambres avec la petite annexe est idéale pour 2 familles ; la piscine est géniale - sécurisée pour les enfants. Petit jardin devant permettant aux enfants de jouer dehors ; baby-foot et coin enfant à l'intérieur très apprécié. Localisation parfaite. Très belles vacances. Recommande fortement cette villa!!

Our family with two teenagers had a fabulous time in this exquisite, spacious and well-furnished villa located in a quiet residential area close to the beach, forest and facilities of La Noue. We spent our time exploring the lovely island with its picturesque small villages and the beautiful coast, doing bike tours on bicycle paths (a very safe way to travel through the countryside and along the coastline with its stunning views), walking through fantastic scenery and on long beaches during low tide (the villa is situated directly behind the dunes so that you have a short way to the beach), strolling on typical French markets, buying seasonal food and later cooking in the spacious kitchen. We loved to visit La Rochelle with its shopping malls, only half an hour away by car on the continent. You do not have to be active the whole time because there are many possibilities to simply relax on different terraces or in the well-tended garden where you can enjoy reading a book. There is good Wi-Fi, which is accessible in the house. From the initial contact when I inquired about renting the property to the actual booking, the owners were helpful, always prompt with answering any questions. The villa is accurately portrayed and matched the online description. Our first impression of the villa was very good: the house was clean, well-maintained and functional, equipped with a dishwasher and washing machines. There is a towel and bed linen service available if you arrive by plane. That was quite helpful for us. All in all, we can highly recommend this property. It is certainly ideal for one family wanting comfort and space or for a larger family wanting to be close but not too close. A perfect gem!

We were very impressed with this property. We were three families (5 young children in total) holidaying together for the UK May half-term holidays, and this suited us perfectly. The houses and pool were very clean, and a minor repair required for the bathroom was addressed on the same day with a quick e-mail to the owner's agent on the island. The owner and his agent were both extremely easy to deal with (both speak English), and our security deposit was returned without any quibbles very promptly at the end of our stay. Linen and towels are not included, although they can be rented from the owner's agent. The pool does have a secure and very ingenious fence around it (not shown in the photos on the website!). Some of us sampled the water, although it was still a bit too cool in late May for regular pool use. There is good Wi-Fi, which is accessible in the lounge rooms of both houses, although not elsewhere (stand near the fence to get a signal initially!). Dishwasher and washing machines made a stay with children that much easier. The houses had a good range of crockery and cutlery and self-catering was easy, with markets in La Noue and La Couarde and a good supermarket in La Couarde. Ile de Re is a terrific destination. We hired bikes and cycled all over, using the extensive network of dedicated bike paths to visit Loix, St Martin and La Flotte, amongst others. The house is in a nice, quiet location - 5 minute stroll to a sandy beach, and about 10 minute bike ride from La Noue (two bakeries open for croissants and bread in the morning) and 5 minute drive to La Couarde. St Martin and La Flotte are also only about 10-15 minutes drive away. All in all - a wonderful place, which we would recommend highly.

There was nothing dramatic about it, but over time we came to appreciate just how perfect this house and its guest house are for a family vacation. First there's the size; it's small enough to be comfortable but large enough for everyone to have enough room. We found it mysteriously easy to keep clean and wish our own house were the same. The guest house provides a great way for family to be close but not too close. It suited all of us from our 2-year old up to his grandmother. The garden and walls give a great sense of space and privacy. Sitting out back was perfectly relaxing. The location is fantastic. It's a relatively quiet part of the island but an easy bike ride to three good town including our favorites, La Flotte and St. Martin. A decent beach was a short walk away and a slightly longer walk led to a world-class beach. One note: the pool is safer for children than it may appear in the photos; it has a removable safety fence.

We spent a delightful week relaxing on Ile de Re in this lovely holiday home. As two families we enjoyed the extra space that the main house and the additional building gave us - and particularly the mezzanine bedroom for our teenager! The properties were light and airy, and benefited from a choice of great beaches and a peaceful residential neighbourhood but only a short cycle ride from everything else we needed. Definitely book the bikes, it made our holiday so much more fun, and the safe cycle lanes meant our extended family group could make the adventure together. We plan to return to the island and the property!
