We just had a lovely stay at the holiday home. We completely fell for Bella, the sweet German Shepherd who charmingly greeted us by the pool – she was truly affectionate and friendly.The property itself is decorated in a charming, slightly older style, which creates a cozy atmosphere. We really appreciated the generous access to basic necessities like spices and oils, which makes a big difference when you arrive at a new place.We chose to rent linen and towels, but were a bit surprised to have to make the beds ourselves. It was a minor detail, but worth noting. The cleaning of the house before arrival could be more thorough. On the other hand, the property was very private and quiet, which contributed to a relaxing vacation.The host was good at providing recommendations based on their own experiences, which was extremely helpful, as the town has no shops, so you have to drive for everything. While the immediate area might not be known for it, the wider region offers fascinating World War I history (such as in Verdun) and the opportunity to enjoy delicious champagnes.All in all, we had a good stay at the property, which is an ideal place for those seeking peace and privacy, and who don't mind driving for shopping and activities.

Sometimes you just need to slow down and relax a little ! The Hunting Lodge provided just the right spot. Early countryside morning walks followed by lazy afternoon reading by the fireplace was just what we were looking for ! Wonderful Holiday stay. Ready for 2024 !

Waldrand des Schlosses vom Villers-en-Argonne ist eine Trouvaille selbst unter den anspruchsvollen Quartieren, die d. französische Landleben bieten kann: In der weitgehend unberührten, geschichtsträchtigen Landschaft, die d. waldreiche West-Lothringen mit dem weiten Herzen der Champagne verbindet, wo in Dörfern, Städten und kirchlicher Architektur vitale Zeugen einer glänzenden Kunst- und Zivilisationsgeschichte den Besucher empfangen, hat der feinsinnige, geschmackvolle Besitzer des wundervollen Anwesens ein KLEINOD geschaffen: Bestens ausgestattet u. stilvoll möbliert, bietet das Jagdhaus eine traumhaft ruhige Atmosphäre, um als Ausgangspunkt von Erkundungen zu dienen, die zu Fuß, per Fahrrad od. motorisiert gleichermaßen vielversprechend sind. Das ländliche Idyll (mit seinem auch literaturgeschichtl. bemerkenswerten Gepräge als ehemaliger Besitz der Chamissos!) u. die Vielfalt der berühmten oder verschwiegenen Kostbarkeiten, die es durchziehen und in den Zentren wie Metz, Nancy und Reims umgeben, sind beglückende Erfahrungen, ...von den Reizen der französischen Tafeln u. Kellereien ganz zu schweigen, die die satte und berühmte Landschaft gerade nicht bloß f. den Massenmarkt, sondern auch f. die kenntnisreichen einheimischen Liebhaber bietet. Erholung, Anregung und Genuss vom Feinsten sind hier in Hülle und Fülle zu finden. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung für alle, die etwas so Exklusives schätzen u. dann auch schützen würden!

A perfect end to a European vacation, if you are looking for long relaxing walks or bike rides through quiet French villages and countryside this is it. The property is beautiful and accommodations are as advertised. As mentioned in other reviews be prepared to climb stairs to the bed rooms, however I found the space and bathrooms quite comfortable.

Nous avons passé un séjour agréable dans la propriété de M.Landman pour des retrouvailles familiales. Nous connaissions déjà la région car notre famille est originaire de Châlons. Le gite est bien équipé, très propre, bien aménagé. Notre séjour s'est déroulé en novembre et avons pu profiter du chauffage électrique et du feu de cheminée. Seul bémol, l'escalier assez raide pour personnes âgées ou enfant en bas âge. Merci pour votre accueil.

Aufmerksamere und freundlichere Gastgeber kann man sich nicht vorstellen! Das zeigt sich bereits in der detailliebenden Einrichtung der Ferienwohnung. Hinzukommt der atemberaubende riesige Garten mit seinem Jahrhunderte alten Baumbestand. Fahrräder, Tischtennis, Swimming Pool alles im besten Zustand! Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder .

We decided on a last minute Thanksgiving weekend getaway and stumbled upon this listing. Our plans were to find a place in between Verdun and Paris in order to take advantage of limited driving to the WWI sites and sight seeing in Paris. The Hunting lodge was the perfect spot. We arrived to fresh baked goods and a gracious husband and wife care taker team. They quickly had us settled and we started preparing our Thanksgiving feast that we packed along in coolers. The house was perfectly suited for our large family (5 kids, 2 adults) plenty of space and sleeping arrangements. The estate where the house was located was beautiful and provided the kids with plenty of room to play (included a playground, bicycles, and ping pong table). Later in the evening on the first night, we were introduced to the estate owner and he gave us a tour of the grounds and explained the history or the estate. We appreciated him taking the time to show us around and were absolutely thrilled to learn more about the entire estate and the main Chateau. We highly recommend staying here. We are hoping to return there when the weather is warmer and see the estate in bloom. Thank you to our hosts, staff and the fresh baked goods delivery every morning.
