One of the best places we have rented for our summer vacation. Quiet and peaceful and fantastic surroundings The cottage was tastefully renovated and were fully equipped with dishwasher and a modern bathroom. Robert and Mariëtte who were taking care of us and the cottage were very nice and helpful. The big swimmingpool were awesome. Also Hamish John Reid who we rented the cottage from were very helpful. We recommend to rent this place. // Niklas and Monica

The property offers enough space for a family, with the possibility to get together or have time to themselves. The area is quiet and lets you relax quickly and well. Nevertheless, shopping and leisure facilities are within easy reach. We had a great time and can only recommend the stay.
The house has everything you need and the pool is just amazing!
It's not difficult to relax here at the Reid's part of the world. Miles of beautiful scenery every which way. You definitely need a car, or a sturdy bike!! Villages every few kilometres, just head out of the village and it's not far to anywhere. Experience a natural rural South France. Facilities are modern and kitchens well equipped with everything you need for at least a week. A good washing machine is a plus when you're on the road for some weeks. And to cook good food is a pleasant change.
Our Stay was perfect, The villa was just what we needed and the surrounds and views were truly beautiful. We were able to see the wonderful views from the living area, total relaxation which is what we were hoping for and we certainly got it. The dips in the lovely pool cooled us off to do a bit more relaxing in the sun. The village was so friendly and we became regulars in the bar in the nearby town! Certainly a place we will never forget. Thank you Emma. Elaine & Freddie, Hull.
This is one of most beautiful and serene places we have ever vacationed, it is almost hard to believe that such places exist in real life and not only in pretty calendars or coffee table books. Everything was perfect - the L'Etabl cottage, the surroundings, the hosts. The L'Etabl cottage is beautifully restored with all modern amenities and yet retaining its original character and charm. The owners have done an amazing job rebuilding it to make it comfortable, aesthetically stunning and very well maintained. It was just magical having breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the pool and the vast green fields. Combined with the natural beauty of the area, this makes it a perfect vacation spot where you truly forget that there is a busy world out there. Puyjourdes village itself is sweet, quiet, colorful and full of character. The central street is lined with centuries old houses, there are flowers on all window sills and porches. The village has no stores but the produce van drives through every day delivering fresh bread and all the staples, it rolls through the village honking and people, just like in movies, come out of their homes to buy bread and chat with the driver. If you like to hike or take walks, there are dozens of paths all around, and because it is Europe, there are a lot of public byways and trails, we walked for hours and hours and did not see a single "Keep out" or "No Trespassing" sign that you see on every step in the US. Local people are very friendly and welcoming and although I do not speak French, I had several "conversations" that consisted of lots of mimicking and hand gesturing. Outside Puyjordes close by there are many beautiful historic towns with well-preserved castles, cobble stone streets and the famous blue shutters. There are excellent farmers markets near by and plenty of restaurants for all tastes and budgets. A fantastic place all around! We highly recommend it and hope to return there at some point. We traveled from the West coast of the USA.
As the first couple to stay here it's only fair to return the compliment i'etable paid us. We had a blisfully peaceful week of serenity and calm - literally the only noise in the village is the Church bell and the cockrel next door ! Highly recommend this to anyone who wanted to get away from it all - take lots of books and leave what you finish for the next guests as we did. The house is beautifully finished - especially liked the shower. A comment bok for visitors might be an idea so that recommendations for places to go can be passed on. This is a charming gite in an unbeatable location and we wish the owners every success with the project and lots more contented guests.
