Petite maison Normande

😊: No breakfast we Didt want one.

😊: We especially liked the traditional Normandy building, the ripe cherries growing on the trees and the rural setting. We liked the comfortable beds and the effective air conditioning. We also enjoyed the provision of a fridge with freezer box, the excellent shower, coffee machine and kettle, the provision of tea, coffee and sugar. The supply of games was appreciated although not used on this occasion. It was good to have a tv. We also had a warm welcome on arrival.. 😢: The ladder come stairs to the main bedroom were a challenge, best to descend backwards. I did stay in a French property one time where the stairs went up the outdoors side of the building to the bedroom and this could be a future safer solution. The mats slipped on the floor and needed something underneath them to make them grip. We missed padded lounge chairs but maybe this is traditional furniture..

😊: The location well into the countryside with historic farm buildings and walks was good. The garden is lovely with plenty of space to sit outside. We found the best restaurant for lunch close by at Menil de Briouze called Le Faim. The village at Bellou is a 30 minute walk away and there is a bar/restaurant and a shop. Wood for the fire was welcome, and the hosts were kind.. 😢: This is, as the owners wrote on the welcome notes inside, a rural gite in an old building, so we should expect basic and rustic fittings and also some cobwebs and dust. It did not disappoint and reminded us of gites we stayed in during the 1980s. Internet connection not good. Bathroom and kitchen could do with an upgrade..
