Pierre & Vacances Residence La Petite Venise

The hotel was close to the train station and just a short walk to Old Town Colmar. We only stayed 2 nights but with the amenities could have stayed longer. We loved it.

On the whole, we were very happy with our stay here. However, there was one issue that caused us a problem in our apartment (306). Sometimes, there was a strong smell of sewerage on the upper floors but at other times it was ok. We couldn't work out if it was the drains or the air con. This was reported twice to reception and was acted upon both times but was never fully resolved.

Great complex of studios and rooms in the best quater of Colmar- calm, beautiful, accessible and just minutes from all the sights and the old city. Excellent organization of the access, including to the underground parking. Comfortable rooms, though a bit tight, but they have everything you might need for a short vacation.

Everything you need fir a few days away, even provided cleaning materials and dish washer tablets.

Very good location and clean area. Friendly reception staff. Good room with enough storage. Comfortable bed and very quiet. One thing I meant to mention is that you must be aware that when in the shower be careful that the water suddenly came out burning hot- I think when my husband flushed the loo, and it burnt me a little down the front of my body. This wasn’t disastrous for me as I responded quickly but would be if it was a child. Not the fault of place and wouldn’t put me off returning- just cautionary tale.

Apartment hotels are the way to go! The only issue with this particular hotel is you cannot check in between 12 pm and 5 pm as the desk is not manned. If you want to check in during this time you have to let them know and you will be charged an additional fee. The door is locked and there is then nowhere to store luggage during this time either. We lucked out and arrived just before noon and were able to store our luggage, but then had to wander around until 5pm. There has to be a better way!

This was our second time staying at this hotel, and overall it was a good experience. The room was very spacious, and the location is convenient—about a 15-minute walk to the downtown area. Breakfast looked appealing, even though we didn’t try it. The in-room kitchenette (with stove, microwave, and mini-fridge) was very handy, and the on-site laundry facilities were a nice bonus. Our only complaints were some mold visible in the shower area and unreliable Wi-Fi, especially at night when more guests seemed to be using it. Otherwise, the stay was comfortable and reasonably priced.
