Poitevin marsh with swimming pool 30 minutes from La Rochelle / 45 Ile de Ré

House is lovely - plenty of room for a family gathering of 11 (7 adults and 4 kids) The pool and grounds were great too, and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you would need for a large number of people.It is well placed for the beach (we preferred Châtelaillon-Plage) and other sights. Some lovely local restaurants nearby (the hosts recommendation - Recre - was excellent). Would also recommend a boat trip at Green VeniceCommunication with the host was fine for the most part. There was some confusion due to his expectations at check out not being clear (we left in the morning, which upset him as he had wanted to do a more formal handover and inventory, despite not doing one at check in) but that is easily solvable with clearer instructions from the host.Additionally, a note that next door to the house is some sort of community space. At the weekends (Friday and Saturday nights) there were loud parties and music playing, from early afternoon until around 2 - 3 am. It didn't bother us too much, but not what we expected in a small village!

This was a lovely property for an intergenerational family holiday - the garden and pool were perfect. Lovely open plan living area and kitchen. Pool table also a hit with everyone. Very quiet village with nearest shop 10 min drive - we enjoyed visits to La Rochelle and Ile de Rey. We were slightly disappointed that the bicycles in the listing were not available as we could have brought one or two of our own if we knew.

We had a lovely time time staying in this super house in La Bourdet. We were 7 adults including our two sons, nephew family friend of theirs and partner of the eldest, our three year old grand daughter and a cockapoo dog ......and we all enjoyed the house and what it had to offer allot. The weather was very mixed and quite cool / rainy at times and having the huge TV and a pool table, and plenty to do and play around with made the house really flexible. The pool was heated and very well looked after and even in cool weather was useable. Sylvie who welcomed us and was on hand for any problems, was lovely and the house was spotless. I can thoroughly recommend this property as a great space and location for a group trip or a big family holiday.
