Port Ripaille: Your house right on the lake / the best of mountains and sea!

We enjoyed a week in the port. The children loved the swimming pool and playing table tennis and petanque at the club and canoeing / swimming in the beautiful lake. The house is really comfortable with everything you want in a holiday, including having dinner in the garden with the water next to you. Recommended!

This is a lovely house in a beautiful setting with the marina at the end of the garden. The house has everything you could wish for. Beds are comfortable, kitchen fully equipped and lots of information about the house and area is provided. We enjoyed the kayak and explored both the marina and the lakeside and use of the bikes was an added bonus. I wouldn't recommend the windsurf board as a paddleboard though as was suggested! Really enjoyed our stay. The house was very well presented just as in the photographs and the Port Ripaille estate was well maintained with a nice club house and sports facilities. I would love to keep a boat there as the lake was calm and very picturesque

What an amazing location! Part of me doesn't actually want to advertise this special place but it wouldn't be fair to keep it such a secret. Booked as a surprise birthday treat for a picky seasoned traveller, a child and someone who likes downtime as much as adventure this place has it all. Holger and his family have a fabulous place, with everything to accommodate all ages. The only wish was not being able to meet them and thank them personally in opening up their house in its beautiful surroundings. However, a big 'shout-out' to their neighbours, who made our Saturday extra special. Thank you! Tips - Kayak the canals and lake, but not two days in a row....you will ache the next day! Get out when it's sunny. Don't leave rubbish/food out the front, the bears will destroy the bins ;) Book into the restaurant early. Great burger's and atmosphere at roundabout just before Port entrance. Brush up on your French, you'll need it :) Most of all, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and lovely people, because you will have to leave.

This house was a wonderful surprise for much needed relaxation and escape. The house was well equipped for all our needs, kitchen equipment and dishes were much more than the usual minimum provided in other properties so our meal preparation was a breeze. There is a small grocery store by the neighbouring camp ground and bigger stores in town. The available sport equipment exceeded our expectations and we used it to enjoy the surroundings. Due to time limitations of our stay we explored the area by bike only (4 different sizes available) and wished we had more time to kayak around in the kayak sitting in the front of the house. The views from the front yard on the canal with yachts and people coming a going put us immediately in a relaxing mood. Waking up in the morning to the singing of the birds and our walks in the natural reserve where the property is located to witness hundreds of different birds in the water, on the pond, swimming, flying, playing was a special treat. We all wished we could stay longer. The only wish we had was to have a map of the resort before our arrival as despite the instructions we got lost in the maze of little roads of the port looking for the property.

This house is amongst the best equipped we have ever rented, including use of canoe, bikes + racket sport stuff. (Canoe exploration of the port and lake was enjoyed by all the family.). Large BBQ was also great and the port complex its-self has a good sized pool that i was not expecting. We enjoyed the nearby public pool complex in Thonon and rented some paddle boards from there and also visited the nearby Chateaux on a rainy day.

Property is to a very high standard. It is well equiped and even has bouyancy aids for small children.
