Pretty town house

We were greeted on arrival by the host and she showed us around the house. She seemed very nice and offered to share some recommendations for activities in the area.However , it was at this point we realised that the host and her family live upstairs with windows overlooking the garden and pool. I think this should have been made clearer in the listing.As nice as the host and her family seem to be, I still felt uncomfortable using the outside facilities knowing that they can see you from their windows above.The house itself is spacious and at first glance , clean and tidy however, we found the oven dirty and cleaned the oven shelves ourselves before using the oven once.Our room (out of the three bedrooms) had been chosen by the host and the bed made ready. This room had damp on the walls with the wall paper peeling off above the window. There was also a damp smell which transferred to our clothes.The owners park their cars on the drive which directly faces the living area, not great as I am an early riser and found that the room was lit up by the hosts headlights when they leave for work in the morning.Regrettably, we did not enjoy our stay in Bergerac and cut our holiday short for the reasons I have mentioned above.I hasten to add (as I’ve said before) the host was very nice, polite and willing to communicate on request and so this review is purely an honest account of our experience in the house and no reflection on the host and her family.

We had an amazing time in Bergerac. Ina and her husband were so lovely and helpful, very quick to respond to any queries. Their house was immaculate and gorgeous. A large supermarket just across the road was very handy too. The house has everything one needs, and the pool was so well looked after. Highly recommended!

Lovely property very close to Bergerac and the lake

We recently stayed in this beautiful property in Bergerac.The villa itself is well maintained, with spacious, tastefully decorated rooms and a fully equipped kitchen.The private pool was a highlight—perfectly positioned to enjoy the all day sun. The garden is peaceful with plenty of space to lounge, bbq.The location is ideal—just a short drive to the centre of Bergerac.

Better than the pictures. Ideal for families with children. Our 2 year old played in the pool, napped and slept in her own room whilst we could still sit outside, relax and read our books - as we did pre-children! Also, across the road from the supermarket which is super handy.

We had a great stay in Bergerac. The house was great, the garden with the swimming pool was the summum. They had an outdoor kitchen which was really a bonus. Our hosts who lived also in the other part of the house were very gentle and supportive. They had to work both so we only saw them now and then. Half way our stay they brought in a table tennis table…we had really great fun with it. A real good spot to have your vacation in the Dordogne! Thanks for having us!

We had a great break, the accommodation is lovely and was perfect for our young daughter. The owners children were very kind and shared everything. With the supermarket so close by it made it easy to get fresh bread and groceries.
