Private hamlet with swimming pool in the heart of a winegrowing estate in Provence

The villas on the L'Escarelle estate were superb - they were situated up a track and literally miles from anywhere in the glorious vineyards, with delightful far-ranging views. They were equipped to an extremely high standard with every room having an en suite. The bedrooms were large, well-furnished and very comfortable. The kitchen and living space was ideal for our family of 21 which ranged from 10 months to 70 plus years old. The swimming pool was completely safe and the games equipment etc very useful. The temperatures were in the mid-30's and our only request for our hosts to consider would be to erect an electric awning on the wall which accommodates the outdoor dining area which stayed hot until well into the evening and would much benefit from any shade. Thomas, who helped us with our booking was unfailingly helpful and dealt with all our queries really efficiently. Nicolas, the manager who helped us after arrival as Thomas was ill, was charming and so patient with every request we made. He also gave us an excellent tour of the winery. We were delighted by him. We would unreservedly recommend L'Escarelle to any family who want a holiday in a beautiful and quiet area of Provence.

Everything about the property was better than expected. The rooms were large, clean, and wonderfully decorated. The beds and linens were first rate. The kitchen and living areas were all well appointed and had everything you need. The laundry room had 2 washing/drying machines! The salt water pool was wonderful and there was many pool toys, ping pong table etc. The area was wonderful for the e bikes that we rented and we enjoyed the charming villages all within a short drive away: Cotignac, la Celle and many more. Thomas, the property manager was helpful and took care of our excursions. The property is very private with lively views of the mountains and vineyards. Of course the vineyard offers wine tasting and cellar visit. We were 11 family members who could not of had a better vacation. Everything about the villas was 5 stars ( or 3 Michelins!)

We were a group of 20 (5 families) and had a wonderful week! The rooms are very comfortable (airco, great beds), the kitchen was perfect for a large group, the pool was large and clean (not even a bug in the water, thanks to the overflow system). Everything is nicely decorated and brand new. The location is just beautiful with wonderful sunsets. We had a lovely visit at the wine cellar of L’Escarelle and did a wine tasting. We visited St Tropez and the Pampelonne plage (1h drive), Cotignac (40 min), Ile de Porquerolles by catamaran from Hyères (1h) and did canyoning in the Gorges du Verdon (2h drive). So plenty to do but you’ll need to spend some time in the car. And last but not least : Thomas is a great host. He is always available and willing to help in every possible way.
