Quiet house with a view of the Pyrenees, 3 km from Orthez and 6 km from a recreation park and shops

Positive: very polite communication, organized welcome, happy to be welcomed with two dogs, thank you. House was heated up before arrivel (winter). Beautiful view into the garden and to the pyrenees, nice wintergarden. Kitchen well equipped. Negative: only superfilcially cleaned. seemed as if the last guests left with superficial cleaning, no proper cleaning afterwards. toilet and bathroom: full of stains, looked as if someone just left, disgusting. Things can be old, but toilet, bath and kitchen should be in perfectly clean condition, so far our opinion. The fireplace did not work, but was listed in the equipment of the house, a bit disappointing, as it was January. But as the house had central heating this was just a comfort problem, not a serious one. 3 days before our arrivel we were informed that there was no toilet paper…. Just on our way we were asked if we need towels or bedlinen, if so - they would cost 20 €. bedlinen has been listed as included in the equipment. Even if not - a message after booking would have been ok, but a message when you are already on the way….? Pillows on the chairs were full of stains, need washing or replacement. Microwave-oven and some of the kitchens equipment was disgustingly dirty. At least one mouse in the house - crunching noises during night in one of the locked rooms, noises in the cupboard and mouse excrements every morning on the kitchen board…. Resume: nice place, polite communication, but dirty

It was really a great Holiday in this olod big house in the basque Country. The house is big enough for 6 adults. We think that even 8 persons could live in this house. There is a chimney and a big sofa in the living room. Every table fits for at least 6-8 persons. The equipment with dishes and chairs for inside and outside use is more than enough. The kitchen comes with a big fridge and all electrical machines that kitchen should have and more. There is a fantastic garden and a great view to the hills and a small village. This house is perfect for people who are looking for a quiet Resort away from all business and traffic.

"This is an older style house in a great location. Nearby Orthez is an interesting town with a good range of shops and an excellent market, and from there it's easy to get to the mountains, to Pau, to Bayonne and to the Pays Basque. But you don't have to do that: there are lots of places to explore in the nearby area. The house is well equipped (lovely sofas), the garden is large (lots of birds visiting), and there is plenty of space inside and outside the house. Mme. C. is a very helpful owner. We really enjoyed our stay."
