😊: Nothing - Host are horrible - find somewhere else to holiday!!!. 😢: The not friendly host was late to arrive. They sent an email 30 minutes before we arrived asking us for 250.00 euros cash or cheque for a security deposit and stating that they do NOT provide bath towels. That email had a telephone no. which did not answer for the first few tries, then when someone did answer, it was not the host! The woman who answered said she would call the host to bring the keys! Also, the host lives 45 minutes away from the property. I explained that through Bookings we made it clear on our ETA and how disappointed I was. More to the point, as we had driven from London it was okay because we could wait in the car whilst it snowed outside, but what if we had no car! When the host and partner arrived, they did not apologise for the delay instead insisted that we go to a bank to get the deposit as it would not be possible for us to stay without giving them the 250.00 euros as stated in the email - I pointed out that the email only arrived 30 minutes prior to our arrival and that I had not seen these details in the Booking.com details. I asked where the local bank was and walked up to get the money. When I arrived back with the deposit, we were shown the flat and when I asked if there was someplace to buy a towel, both said it was not possible as it was Saturday (17:34) and all the shops were closed and not possible to buy on Sunday as all the shops would be closed! They offered to rent me towels at a cost of 10.00 euros per day and I would need to pay a further deposit of 10.00 euros. I paid 260.00 euros at that point. I later looked on line and there was a supermarket opened in the same city they came from 🤬. I drove down and purchased towels, and bed linen as in that same email I was told that all bedding must be stripped/ cleaned before departure or 40.00 euros would be deducted from the deposit for cleaning. I was reminded about the cleaning cost the day prior - so I just paid it Horrible start due to horrible host.
