😊: A great stay in Santa Maria whilst attending MotoGP at Le Mans. Perfect for me and my mate with a bedroom each and parking for our motorcycles. The property was well equipped for cooking etc and had a BBQ, but as we spent the majority of our time at the circuit, we ate out. The local town is nice, but very quiet, though there was a couple of restaurants and a kebab shop. Some lovely roads in the area to explore on our bikes. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again..

😊: The location was great with easy access to the Supermarket and the vets. Also convenient to visit Alençon and Le Mans. The garden was enclosed which allowed the dog to run free. The WiFi once connected was good. The owner allowed us access in the afternoon with a safe key box.. 😢: The room smelt a bit musty on entry but we found the lounge uncomfortable with either table chairs or the settee to sit on . The shower needs a shelf for shampoo and shower gel, also no internal handle to close the shower door when using it. We used towels for a shower mat. With some improvement of the bathroom and lounge the property is a good venue and value for money. There was only two of us and to say it can accommodate six is overly ambitious. We left two days early due to personnel reasons..

😊: The house was a good size, with two spacious bedrooms and a nice living, dining and kitchen area. There was a large garden and the area around the house was quiet which we appreciated.. 😢: Sadly, we had a few issues that meant we didn't particularly enjoy our stay. They may sound petty in isolation but they all added up. Firstly, we arrived to a notice (only written in French that we had to google translate) explaining you either had to clean the house when you left (including washing the bedsheets) or pay a €30 additional cleaning charge. If this is their policy, I think it should be mentioned on booking.com, or at the very least by message before arrival. I didn't like it being sprung on me on arrival. The house was really underequipped. I know it's self-catering, but you still expect a few basics to be offered, especially when they allow short stays, and people are less likely to travel with all the basics of a house. We were left half a toilet roll for 2 people for a 2-night stay. There were zero products, not even hand soap (even though the description says free toiletries). We were given 1 dishwasher tablet and half a scoop of laundry detergent (but these were to clean with when you leave). It just felt unnecessarily thrifty. The cooker didn't work but we struggled to get hold of the hosts (presumably because they were at work). The final nail in the coffin was that when we stayed it was during an unseasonal cold spell of weather. Even though it says there is heating, you should know that you don't have access to it or any control of it. There was a locked cupboard, and so I assume the controls are kept locked away. We were cold and asked how to turn the heating on. But we were told that it hadn't been switched on yet. If you can't turn it on, then there isn't heating. They did offer on the last night to bring a plug-in heater over, but they could only arrive after 8pm, and seen as we would be going to bed a couple of hours later, we didn't see the point..
