Spacious 5-Bedroom House in Town Center with AC, sleeps 8-10

😊: The keys were there as agreed. 😢: The house was not a house - it was three apartments which we had two rented to us and the host described it as a house. This gave us security concerns and we felt it was not as advertised. The ‘house’ was in a poor area that had vehicles drive outside all night, barking dogs from local neighbours and lots of stray cats, we had to leave windows open at night due to the heat of being in the top apartment and a cat got in through a window and defecated under our son’s bed, it was disgusting. This is not a ‘family’ holiday home. The middle shower was also cold, there were tiny tick-like bugs in the middle apartment and the wifi didn’t work to allow us to watch television upstairs. We were disappointed that, despite the host knowing there were only 3 of us, did not think to offer us just one of the apartments but instead rented us two and called it a house. Limoux itself has become run down over the years with little to do there - this ‘house’ reflects that. We raised this to the host on day 4 and they said ‘thanks for the feedback’ - we left a day early and I had to ask for a refund for the night we didn’t stay there - I wasn’t offered this voluntarily which was poor. We informed the police about the dogs and the response was none existent. My son also had to witness a cat being run over - despite the road opposite being barely a car width’s across you had people drive vehicles down there at speed and the whole house shook and on the third night the cat was hit and left in the road bleeding. The interior of the house isn’t too bad, but the area is awful. Air conditioning is a must and we didn’t have it - temperatures were unhealthy and the fans were useless, we needed to leave windows open but this threatened security, was noisy and let the Strat cats in. We paid £1200 for 6 nights and regret doing this, next time we will only book a property with lots of reviews, this property had one review and we made a big mistake which spoilt our family holiday..
