😊: The apartment was pleasant and the location convenient. We were able to park nearby. 😢: I requested information about accessing the property before we left and received only the reply ‘Je suis a la residence’, so assumed it would be fairly obvious. However on our arrival after a long journey, but well within the agreed time slot, it was not at all obvious where or how to enter the accommodation. After spending about half an hour trying every door and doorbell we could find I phoned the host but got no reply. I then sent a message via booking.com. By this time it was raining and we were getting anxious about whether we actually had anywhere to stay that night. About 5 minutes later the host arrived, bearing bedlinen and asked to wait 10 minutes while changed the bed from the previous occupant – the property had clearly not been checked since they departed! Eventually we got in and the apartment was perfectly pleasant. As this was a brief overnight stop on a longer trip I had planned to use the washing machine provided in the apartment, however the owner had put the previous occupant’s dirty bedding in it so, unless we wanted to sleep with the machine running overnight a few feet from our bed, I was unable to do so. Constructive thoughts – better information about access and location, and more care over ensuring the property is ready when guests arrive would mean less stress and a pleasanter stay for your guests..
