😢: I have used Booking.com many times over the years and, until now, have never had a negative experience. On the evening of our arrival, when we were getting ready for bed, we discovered that the window shutter in the property was broken. At that time of year, the sun rises around 5am and sets close to 10pm, so having a functioning shutter is essential. At approximately 10pm, I contacted the owner to report the issue and ask for assistance. I was staying with my two children and disabled sister, so resolving the situation myself was not straightforward. I was extremely shocked and distressed by the owner’s response. Instead of offering help, he became aggressive and threatened us, telling us to leave immediately and warning that if he came over, there would be consequences. His tone was very intimidating, and as a woman travelling with children and a vulnerable adult, this was particularly frightening. We felt unsafe and barely slept that night. The following day, I contacted Booking.com to seek a solution, at the very least requesting to cancel the booking so we could move elsewhere. Despite providing evidence, I was told that shutters were not listed as part of the property description, and therefore they would not support a cancellation. As a result, we felt completely stuck. The owner refused to assist, and Booking.com declined to intervene. We ended up buying sleep masks to cope with the brightness, but throughout our stay, we were extremely anxious and worried that the owner might come for us. Based on this experience, I strongly advise others to avoid booking this property..

😊: This is a great sized apartment in an excellent location. The apartment was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. We particularly appreciated the washing machine, dryer and coffee machine. Communication with our host was good and there is a supermarket just across the road.. 😢: The sixth person to shower didn’t have enough hot water..

😊: A perfect location and very spacious clean apartment. 😢: A working lift would have been nice.
