😊: We recently stayed at a house booked through Booking.com, and unfortunately, the location was quite misleading. The property was not where it was pinned on the website. We specifically chose it because it claimed to be a 10-minute drive from town. In reality, it was much farther and remote. The only way to reach the house was via a very rough dirt track, which was difficult to drive even with our own vehicles. Had we not had cars, it would have been hard to get there. We also struggled with getting a taxi—eventually needing to meet the driver halfway and guide them in, which was far from ideal when trying to attend an event on time. The house itself was sufficient for a short stay. It had most basic amenities, although it could benefit from a deeper clean and some modern updates. Small but important details, like providing enough toilet paper for the length of stay, were overlooked. The host was pleasant, but better transparency about the property's actual location and access difficulties is essential. There was also no washing machine as stated. Additionally, we kept on being told what other guests had broken and why we MUST be careful with stuff. Although this is fair to some extent, as a holiday let, wear and tear is expected and not every guest needs to be put in the same bracket. This made it hard to relax and fully enjoy the experience.
