Superbe maison de la maison - Pond Cottage

We have stayed at Pond Cottage on 9 separate occasions over the last 6 years and always loved every minute of it. The cottage, location and hospitality of Paul and Zoe is just fantastic. We have stayed in the summer holidays with our children and taken Grandma and Grandad and then had Christmas and New Year and it has been the best. Pond Cottage has all the comforts you need and it just feels like home from home. Paul and Zoe are there if you need anything (never obtrusive) and give advice and guidance on where to go, if required - they are great hosts. Chateau Monfreville is perfect for exploring D Day beaches and museums, Bayeux and getting further afield. Isigny, the local town is great with all the amenities and a few bars and restaurants and Bar Central is a favourite with consistently excellent and reasonable food. We cannot recommend Chateau Monfreville highly enough - it has been a place where we have made many happy memories of family holidays that our children and parents will always remember.

Our family undertook an ambitious European vacation with our teenaged children. We truly enjoyed it, but we were desperate for some down time and needed a vacation from our vacation! We found an absolutely perfect respite at Chateau Monfreville. Zoe and Paul could not have been more hospitable. Rose Cottage was a perfect gem of a cottage with two beautifully appointed bedrooms upstairs and a very cozy living area and kitchen downstairs. The Chateau is stunning with flowers, gardens, acreage, animals, and nice open spaces. The cottage provides a perfect launching pad for touring Normandy: the D-Day beaches, Mont St. Michel, Bayeux, etc. I immediately began considering how I could possibly plan a return trip. Two nights were not nearly enough.

We loved it! It's homely and generously sized with lovely spacious gardens. Great to meet Paul Zoe, superb local knowledge and recommendations for eating. Remote enough to be peaceful yet very handy for the Normandy Beaches and such. Negatives? Our (double) bed was on the small side. Wouldn't stop us going back though!
