Superbe Villa piscine chauffée -Bois de la Chaize. 5 étoiles meublé de tourisme

We had a truly wonderful family week in this beautiful villa. The villa was clean and very well-equipped, with lots of towels provided. There was plenty of space for our party of ten (from ages 5 to 79) to comfortably live for a week. Cooking in the kitchen and bbq/outdoor space was a pleasure. Table tennis, table football and the swimming pool were a huge bonus for both the children and adults! The beach, with lovely sea-bathing, was less than a ten-minute walk. Noirmoutier town was also within walking distance, but would recommend hiring a bike for your stay as the daily cycle to Noirmoutier (via the Marais de Mullembourg) for groceries is lovely. Would definitely recommend exploring the island by bicycle - there are plenty of bike hire places in Noirmoutier - we had some lovely days out to other parts of the island. Thank you to both the concierge and the owner, who were both very helpful and kind. We had a wonderful stay.

Characterful old house with high quality renovation in historic neighbourhood visited by Renoir. Kitchen has superb appliances. Fermob furniture throughout. An incredible pool with a sliding wooden deck. Be aware: house situated on corner of two small roads, one of which is the main access to Plage des dames; speedbump right by the house; lacking privacy from the road; neighbouring school has frequent bells on school days; bedrooms and beds are compact; one shower room upstairs and one downstairs. Property manager asked for 224€ for cleaning; seems a lot as we found live spider and blonde hairs in a bed, and very dusty and not completely clean. Owner very helpful and responsive. A book of his local recommendations plus guide to appliances/towel radiators would help.
