The Cottage Sleeps 4 (1 Bedroom)

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cottage. We loved the peace and quiet of the location. The cottage was spacious and the views out onto the garden delightful. We enjoyed being able to use the kitchen to make the most of cooking with delicious local ingredients. The log burner was great for chilly evenings, making the sitting room nice and cosy. Thanks for the generous selection of tasty treats on arrival!

Wonderful welcome package and hostess pleasant and helpful throughout stay. Unfortunately because of the fact that we both have mobility problems the property was not really suitable. We found the stairs very difficult and my husband found moving about in bedroom difficult because of sloping roof. We were aware that there was not a walk in shower but this proved to be quite a problem.

The cottage is spacious and set in lovely gardens. The host was really welcoming and helpful - lots of information about the area and she made sure we had everything we needed. The location is beautiful and peaceful - a great jumping off point to explore the coast and further afield. Highly recommended.

Marvelous little cottage, with beautiful garden and surroundings. Very cosy and private. Our hostess, Janet Plumptre, made us feel very welcome and provided us with lots of useful information about sites to see and things to do in the vicinity.

A lovely gîte in a beautiful, peaceful location with large grounds and delightful hosts. It is well equipped and very comfortable. It is within easy reach of Pontrieux, with its supermarket, restaurants and shops. The whole surrounding area is very beautiful with lots to do and see. We thoroughly recommend this gîte.

Very clear directions led us straight to the gite. Janet welcomed us and gave us lots of information about the area. A bottle of wine, a baguette, jams, eggs and coffee got us off to a flying start. The accommodation is very comfortable. Everything we needed was to hand, and there's a small supermarket with petrol less than 10 minutes away. Plenty to do and see nearby, too much for our short stay! Janet and Mick were very helpful, and we'd certainly go back.

May 2016, we chose to spend a four day weekend at the Cottage. The idea was to enjoy a quiet and restful 51st. wedding anniversary in the Breton countryside. The choice we made was, as they state, "exactly what it says on the tin". We enjoyed a completely self-contained cottage situated in spacious grounds, with the serenity that the countryside and nature provide. Mick and Janet, the owners, even made sure that fresh milk was in the refrigerator for our tea. The cottage is comfortable allowing plenty of room and contains most things required for your holiday and those other items, an Intermarche supermarket is to be found in the local village. We chose to have two evening meals in the cottage during our stay and the cooking facilities were all available and easy to use. The weather was very kind and we were able to sit outside in the garden to wine and dine, most agreeable. The Breton sea food was a big attraction, plenty of restaurants to choose from along the coast. We were not to be disappointed, both midday and evening times. Tip for the local sight-seeing: "La Roche Jagu" is a chateau/gardens is close at hand and a must for those who love the gardens, and these are situated, with stunning views above a bend in the river/inlet. My partner and I stayed here for a week in July 2015. The Cottage was well equipped and comfortable, our hosts leaving not only useful leaflets but also some food essentials. Janet was happy to give us additional information about the area - best places to go to eat, swim and when the local markets were - as well as bikes and a badminton set. Situated within a 5-min drive of Pontrieux, which is a pretty town with several restaurants, boulangeries and a good supermarket. In July the steam train wasn't running - the only disappointment of the holiday. Crec'h Mordo is within a half-hour drive of the dramatic coastline - good for clean beaches, interesting rock formations and lovely seafood restaurants. Overall, it was a lovely restful holiday, combining rural calm with coastal beauty.
