The villa of the Impressionists

😊: Emmanuel was a fantastic host. If we had questions, he responded quickly and very helpful - just what you need. The house was clean, well equipped and fine for the 5 of us staying there. We were five singles, so used all three bedrooms, plus one of the sofa beds in the living room. I slept there and it really was very comfortable. Yes, the road is quite busy, but, as Emmanuel suggests in his description, ear plugs did the trick.. 😢: Not Emmanuel's fault, but the public transport connections to Monet's garden at Giverny could definitely be better. You have 3 choices 1. A little road train that leaves from the station 2. A shuttle bus that leaves from the station 3. The public, normal bus, Line 10, that leaves from the station We ended up using the public bus, because it was cheapest (€2), but note that you can only pay in cash. None of the above ran more frequently than once an hour, so you need to factor that in to your visit. We, along with 2 French women, were left stranded at Giverny when the shuttle bus departed 3 minutes early. Luckily, the driver of the next bus decided to break the rules and ferry us back to Vernon so that the 2 French women didn't miss their train back to Paris..

😊: The villa is in a residential area just a few minutes by car from the Seine and the centre of Vernon. Giverny is maybe 10 minutes. The villa is set back from the road with private secure parking for at least two cars. On road parking is possible at along a quiet road behind the villa with private access via steps to the side of the property. This was very convenient. The ground floor spacious kitchen is well equipped and a convivial social space featuring an "island" with seating for 8 people. The ground floor also has a large double bedroom opposite a large shower room and separate wc. The spacious lounge/dining room on the first floor is comfortable with quality furnishings and a large smart tv with web services - Netflix, you tube etc. The lounge provides access to an elevated private terrace to the side of the house with outdoor dining furniture. There are two more bedrooms and a bathroom on the second floor. We used the large double which was very comfortable with good quality bed linen and towels. Bathroom toiletries are not provided. All windows in the villa, except the kitchen, have electrically operated roller shutters which are easy to operate and provide a high level of privacy and security. Hot water was constantly available for the kitchen and bathrooms.. 😢: Maybe pay a little more attention to the garden. Monet's garden is serious competition hahaha..
