Once again we (4 adults and 3 children) spent a wonderful time in the house with its spectacular and very green view onto a horse paddock, huge trees and the nearby forest. It is a great place to be with small children, safe, quiet and secluded. The beds are very comfortable, the tables (both inside and outside) huge, the kitchen well equipped. The surrounding landscape is estonishingly pretty which makes the 30 minutes drive to the cost (great for children) a joy. Myreille and Hervé are perfect hosts, we recommend the accomodation warmly and will surely return. Thank you, Myreille and Hervé!

We really enjoyed our stay and visit to France. This was our first holiday away with the kids since COVID, so we wanted a place surrounded by nature where we could simply relax. The gîte is absolutely perfect for a family, surrounded by natural woodlands and the children loved visiting the horses every morning. We found the location to be perfect for daily trips with so much to see and explore on the Opal Coast. We really enjoyed our chats with Myreille and found her hospitality to go above and beyond. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for having us! :)

Merci pour l'accueil enthousiaste et la flexibilité (heure d'arrivé et départ)! Nous avons passé un très beau séjour au milieu du calme et de la nature. Le gîte était spacieux et confortable, les activités aux alentours nombreux.

We had a lovely week at Les Pres Billard. Myreille and Herve could not have been more friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The cottage was cool and comfortable despite a heat wave and the view over the pastures and forests was so peaceful. We loved watching the horses, ducks, cows, and forest wildlife cross the fields as we ate our meals. :-) It was also easy to explore the region and the coast line from this location when we felt like venturing out. We would definitely return.

Myreille is a wonderful host. It’s an absolute wonderful and peaceful place where you can really relax. We enjoyed it that much so that we will pick it again for future vacations. It’s also very suitable for children of all ages.

Extraordinaire. Le confort, la décoration,l’environnement, tout est plus que parfait dans ce joli gîte. Et que dire de l’accueil chaleureux de Myreille et Hervé qui nous apprennent tant de choses sur la région et nous donnent les meilleures adresses tant pour les superbes routes à emprunter que pour les restaurants où sont servis les produits régionaux de qualité. À ne pas manquer, absolument.

Das Ferienhaus war ein echter Glücksgriff. Idyllisch gelegen, von einem sehr netten Vermieter-Ehepaar liebevoll hergerichtet, ist das Ferienhaus in der Realität noch viel schöner, als es die Darstellung auf fewo-direkt vermitteln kann. Morgens wird man von Vögeln geweckt. Beim Frühstück schaut man auf die Pferdekoppel, wo zwei Pferde friedlich grasen. In direkter Laufnähe finden sich einige Wanderpfade durch die Natur (wir hatten eine topographische Karte gekauft, die uns gute Dienste leistete). Die Ausstattung ist modern (z.B. was den Herd und den Kühlschrank angeht). Manchmal hätte es sicher auch etwas weniger Modernität getan, denn manches ist auch etwas fragil (so mussten die Vermieter an der Dusche Hinweise anbringen, wie mit der Duschsäule umzugehen ist, dass nichts kaputt geht - was leider nicht immer alle Gäste zu verstehen scheinen...). Wir kamen aber gut mit allem aus und uns fehlte es technisch an nichts. Desvres selbst hat einige schöne Wege in seinem Umkreis. Allerdings gehört zu Desvres auch dazu, dass dort einmal Industrie zu finden war. Einen Blick in die Geschichte bietet das Keramik-Museum. So wie es hergerichtet ist, nimmt es auch Jugendliche mit hinein in die Hochzeit der Keramikproduktion in Desvres. Einige andere Fabriken sind noch aktiv, was bei einem der Wanderwege die Ruhe nahm. Am Ferienhaus selbst ist davon aber nichts zu hören. Von der Vermieterin bekamen wir gute Tipps für Ausflüge. Cap Gris-Nez an der Opalküste war für uns ein guter Startpunkt für zwei schöne und abwechslungsreiche Strandwanderungen. Insgesamt bietet die Küste schöne Strände (z.B. bei Hardelot). Es empfiehlt sich, von den jeweiligen Strand-Promenaden etwa 1 km am Strand entlang zu laufen. Die Strände sind dann fast menschenleer und bieten je nach Tidenstand eine riesige Sandfläche und gute Bademöglichkeiten. Wer an der Geschichte dieser Region interessiert ist, sollte sich La Couple nicht entgehen lassen. Für Deutsche zeigt sich hier das Unheil, das in der deutschen Besatzungszeit über Land und Leute kam. Zugleich wird klar, wie wertvoll die deutsch-französische Freundschaft der letzten Jahrzehnte ist. Wer an Europa zweifelt, findet hier überzeugende Argumente, warum die europäische Idee nicht scheitern darf. Und so wird der Bogen weiter gezogen, bis zur Landung auf dem Mond - es bleibt zu hoffen, dass Raketen auch in Zukunft auf friedlicher Mission unterwegs sein werden.
