😊: The mountain village of Barbarin is very nice and has magnificent views. The building of the gite is lovely. The owners are very kind and sympathetic.. 😢: First of all, I should state I am not the best person to review this property, as it is not aimed at people like me. I expected to be staying in part of a manoir which might have been haunted, but instead, found that the gite was just a very small village house. This was fine in itself, but unfortunately for me, the interior was totally devoted to a Halloween theme. There was even a devil's head on the staircase. Consequently, the place was dark and the lighting was minimal. If you like to shave safely in a morning, you are out of luck. However, the decor has been done with humour and a large degree of skill. If you like The Sisters of Mercy and love going to Whitby in October, this place is highly recommended..
