Villa atypique - Vue mer et piscine chauffée

The purpose of the stay was to take elderly parents to celebrate my Mother’s 80th birthday. Coming from the U.K. with limited opportunities for my parents to use swimming pools so this property was selected solely on the basis of the heated pool. There were nicer properties in better locations available without heated pools that we would have rather of booked but chose this one for the feature of the heated pool. For reference we have stayed in several villas in Europe during October and heated means heated and not very cold as this one was. There was clearly a heating facility but the pool never reached temperatures that felt barely warm enough for my parents to enter who tried on several occasions throughout the week but couldn’t because it was too cold. This complaint was raised to the host almost immediately after arrival and were met with a very hostile, sarcastic and rude response advising us to be more realistic and that they didn’t have a magic wand. We also spent a hour cleaning the pool when we arrived before we could try it as it was absolutely filthy and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a while. Further issues were raised regarding several broken safety rails, sockets and lights not working, not some but a lot. The power went out on several occasions and when raised to the host we were told it was due to adverse weather on the first occasion but the subsequent occasions were dry, sunny days. Much more I could say, extremely disappointing and not as advertised.

Everything here was perfect, from the communication with the host Barbara to the absolute tranquillity in the private house with the magnificent view. The pictures does not do it justice 😃 Airconditioned rooms and several different places to sit and enjoy sun or shade. The pool is huge and fantastic to play in for our kids. 5mins to shopping in Intermarché & a small city. We had 1 small issue with the fridge and within 15 mins someone was there to help us. We could not have enjoyed our time there anymore. 4 adults and 4 kids(11,11,13,13) If 6 stars was possible….😃

Outstanding property with amazing private pool and sea view. Light and open house with unique character and features. Outdoor space and pool were very enjoyable, quiet and serene. House and pool are very private, tranquil and not overlooked yet close and convenient to services and local attractions. Owners were very responsive to questions and local caretaker Barbara was very friendly and helpful during check-in and stay. We will definitely come back!
