😊: The property is well maintained with new appliances and everything you'd need for a comfortable stay, with a secure fence around the whole property and then separately the pool.. 😢: 2 wks prior to arrival I was sent a very long rulebook. It contained useful information but also several references/threats to ways guests could lose their deposit. There are lots of 'disclaimers' which I don't know are actually compatible with consumer laws - felt very unfriendly. This property tolerates pets but isn't pet friendly. The rules state dogs cannot be on any beds or sofa and if evidence is found to the contrary the guest may lose up to E500 deposit. Likewise, it states dogs may not toilet anywhere on the grounds/outdoor area (instead of presuming responsible owners would clean up after their pet) and specifically states dogs must be taken for "walkies" outside of the lawn, and evidence to the contrary will (also!) result in losing the deposit. We were likely only going to use 2 of 5 bedrooms; the host flatly refused to leave bedding/make up all bedrooms in the property despite renting the entire place for 2 weeks. The linen cabinet was locked so if we had wanted additional bedding we would have had to contact overseas host to contact their local property manager. It seemed very inhospitable since we didn't know the lay of the property prior to arrival, nor know our exact needs based on the property/weather/etc until we saw the property. Guests may not arrive before 6pm on the day of their stay, much later than anywhere I've rented in 25 years - FYI. We were unfortunate enough to have a bad storm on the second to last night at the property which resulted in a leak onto the bed in the master. I was helpful by taking photos, protecting the bed/furniture, using bowls to collect the rainwater, etc and contacting the host the next day. The hosts then arranged for a workman and PM to investigate w/o engaging us first - I asked for this to happen after we left the next morning and host was then very rude to my husband on the phone when he reiterated the same point..

😊: The pool is great and the gardens and surroundings very pleasant.. 😢: Cleaner and the garden tidier..
