Villa paisible

😊: The location was good. The pool was nice.. 😢: Booked this villa for ourselves and our 4 adult children in early August. Made sure it was stated that it was an air conditioned property due to the time of year. When we arrived the owner informed us that there was no air conditioning in 2 out of the 4 bedrooms. (She was in contact with us on WhatsApp prior to arrival about arrival times but failed to advise of this) The first night was horrific in the bedroom which is outside the house where 2 people were sleeping. There was a noisy fan which just recirculated warm air and they were awake most of the night drenched in sweat. We had to move their beds to the living room which meant we had no living space. We would never have booked here if we knew it wasn’t air conditioned in all the bedrooms. The owner had also left numerous personal items around the house. One bedroom had absolutely no usable wardrobe or drawer space due to the owners possessions. Drawers in other rooms also full. No room in kitchen presses for our groceries as they were full of other items. There was even a basket of their laundry left in the kitchen, and an ashtray with cigarette butts in the living room. The kitchen counter and sinks were grubby with chipped painted over tiles. The house smelled of soot and damp due to almost an inch thick of soot on a massive fireplace wall. I contacted the owner on day 2 about this. We could not move anywhere else as we could not find anywhere else suitable at such short notice. I asked for a partial refund as it was not what we had booked - we only had 2 out of 4 usable bedrooms and now no living space plus a host of other issues. She has refused to engage and find a solution, and we paid a massive amount of money for what ended up being half of what we booked , and was more like a cheap house share. She also tried to claim that we broke a chair which is absolutely untrue as we left the place exactly as we found it, even going to the trouble moving the beds back from the living space before we left..
