village house of Aas in Ossau valley, mountain

If you want a piece of ‘real’ France, then try this one for a few days. It is quite rustic in feel but it’s warm and cosy, in a lovely, hillside village. No boulangerie or tabac here though - they are a 20 min walk to Eaux-Bonnes or a 10 min drive to Laruns - but share the peace and tranquility with the church bells and narrow streets. Great location for ‘the petit train’, Col d’Aubisque or even Lourdes.

we had a great walking holiday based here: its great base for outdoor activities. The property is in Aas, on the hill above Eaux-Bonnes. Nearest (small) supermarket is in Laruns. The owners were away when we stayed - so it was a bit "self service" ...but it was fine.

We had great time at this nice gite. Fabulous view and Claire was a friendly and supportive host.
