Warm house of 60m2 and garden 20 minutes from Bordeaux

The appartement is comfortable and offers all necessary equipment. You feel like in a green oasis. The owners are very friendly and help out when need be. You will never feel lonely as there are two nice but boisterous dogs on the premises and nightly visits by cuddly cats are also possible; not to forget the chicken den in the beautiful garden. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We really enjoyed our stay at this accommodation. The flat is well equipped and comfortable. The landlords are very friendly and helpful, but not pushy. The airport and Bordeaux are close by and can be reached easily by car. There is also a reasonable bus connection to Bordeaux, luckily until late at night (~10 minutes walk + ~40 drive or so) and there are many things to discover in the surrounding country. We are very much into food & cooking and were very happy to find great a butcher, baker, fish monger, cheese shop, and fruit dealer directly in Gradignan.

My husband and I spent 5 nights here and it was absolutely fabulous. The hosts are a lovely couple who were generous, friendly, and attentive to our every need. The apartment is exactly as described in the online listing, except better. It is spacious, beautifully decorated, and well-equipped. For example, the kitchen was good-sized with plenty of room for a table that seats four and french doors out onto the balcony overlooking the back garden area. Besides all the usual dishes, cookware, utensils, etc. it was stocked with basic cooking ingredients like salt & pepper and other seasonings, olive oil, onions, fresh garlic, coffee, milk, butter, fresh fruit, etc. - it was wonderful. The bedroom was large with plenty of closet and shelf space for our clothes and other things. The bed was very comfortable with crisp linens, a comfy duvet, and extra blankets and pillows. French doors opened to the front balcony with a small table and two chairs and a view of the front garden. Perhaps a small thing, but the use of our host's washing machine and drying rack was really helpful for us. Although it was too far for us to walk to the very attractive Gradignan town center, there was a great market (with fresh bakery and pastries every day along with fresh fruits and vegetables and all sorts of canned and prepared foods), a boucherie, and a pizzeria just a half block away. The shop keepers spoke little or no English, but all of them were helpful and friendly and we got along just fine by pointing (and smiling a lot). With a car, Gradignan town center is only minutes away and has a full array of shops and services. The day we went into Bordeaux, we followed our host's directions to the park & ride in neighboring Talence (about a 10 minute drive) and took the tram into the city. It was very convenient and so much easier than trying to drive and find parking in the city. On top of all these positive points, our hosts were extraordinarily kind and thoughtful. They were very considerate of our privacy, but when we needed something or wanted their advice they were so happy to help. All in all, this was a wonderful place to spend a week and we recommend it very highly. I only wish we could return in the spring or summer to see the garden in bloom.
