Zen cabin in the bush

Wonderful secluded spot, 15-20 min walk from bonifacio (note that the walk is on roughish footpaths). Lovely outdoor shower with plenty of outside space to sit.

La cabane zen porte bien son nom. Une fois qu’on a fait abstraction du seul bémol lié à l’hébergement (mobil-home réhabilité, donc toute petite douche et tout petit frigo), le reste est juste parfait : la manière dont Nathalie a aménagé et décoré l’endroit, avec plusieurs coins agréables sur la terrasse qui entoure le logement, fait de cet endroit un havre de paix où on profite du calme, des extérieurs, d’une très bonne literie, d’un séjour climatisé et parfois de la visite de petits animaux (Enzo le geecko et sa compagne Joséphine qui sortent le soir, les petits chatons de Pirouette, un petit mulot Corse venu se régaler d’un fruit qu’on lui avait laissé). Sans parler de la disponibilité bienveillante de Nathalie (un flexible de douche à changer ? Hop ! Le lendemain, c’est fait) et de ses conseils. Bref, quand on reviendra du côté de Bonifacio, c’est bien là qu’on séjournera !

Tutto meraviglioso, specialmente la zona esterna. Pulita e arredata con gusto, un piccolo appartamento servito di ogni necessità. Il nipote dell’host Artur sa parlare bene l’inglese e l’italiano.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour, merci pour votre disponibilité et votre gentillesse. Le logement est propre est bien aménagé. L’extérieur est très agréable on s’y sent bien 😊

Die Unterkunft liegt gut, um die Stadt Bonifacio zu erkunden. Die Unterkunft ist Wohnwagenähnlich und etwas in die Jahre gekommen mit niedrigen Decken, engen Zimmern, teilweise trüben Fenstern und einem winzigen Bad. Leider ist sie zudem sehr hellhörig und liegt direkt an einer Straße an der auch das Fahrzeug geparkt werden muss. Es gibt keinen privaten Stellplatz. Wir haben uns während des Aufenthalts nicht wohl gefühlt und konnten nicht zur Ruhe kommen, da wir uns sehr beobachtet gefühlt haben. Für dieses Preisniveau erwarten wir uns einen höheren Standard.

The title is perfect - a lovely little Zen caravan with everything we needed, and a short walk from an ancient stone trail that leads to Bonifactio (15 minutes to the left) or to the gorgeous, secluded La Cayenne beach cove (15 minutes to the right). Our only issue was finding the place when we arrived - the address is just 'Bancarellu', which is a whole winding rural road. The Google map location on VRBO was a little off - if you come to the end of the paved road, you've gone too far. Host was extremely nice and helpful, though, and we have zero complaints. We hope to come back again some day and explore more of this magical area around Bonifacio and the rest of beautiful Corsica. Highly recommend!

The hut itself is very charming and in a nice area, but the owners were right next door and we felt it was not very secluded or private like you'd imagine being called a 'zen' hut, there were constantly people walking past and you could hear the owners a lot. The directions to getting there were very misleading - the house name is in fact the road name and it is a long road! If the hut was cheaper and more secluded it would be near perfect (and did not include a BBQ like in the description) - we stayed in the most amazing hotels around Corsica for far less than this with breakfast included so I would say its not worth the money.
