Atelier des Chartrons - Loft centre de Bordeaux

😊: The location was excellent being only a couple of streets from both Paul Doumer and Chartrons tram stops and the waterfront and the wonderful, historic Au Petrin Moissangais boulangerie from 1765 (the official baker for Louis XV) as well as multiple shops, supermarkets and cafes. The whitewashed decor was cute and fresh and it was very clean. Very relieved to see the blinds on the velux windows to block out overhead light during summer and air conditioning. When we asked for more than 4 coat hangers they dropped some off at the door immediately. Nice and quiet for sleeping, too. There is also a heated towel unit which we used daily to dry out washed underwear and the soaking bath mat.. 😢: It is unappealing and poor feng shui to have an old toilet in the entrance hallway under the stairs. The broken glass panel in our studio kitchen landing had been replaced with a pine board sheet but the broken glass sheet was still leaning against the entrance hallway all week. We did hope for a tiny icebox freezer for ice cubes, ice creams etc but it was just a small bar fridge. The real issue they must address is the shower stall which has an inadequate depth of 1cm. To avoid flooding the bathroom out into the hallway which happened twice, you have to turn on the shower to get the warm water, turn it off, get shampoo in hand, turn on water, get hair wet, turn off, shampoo hair, turn on water, wash hair, turn off, get conditioner on hair and soap on body, turn on water, wash conditioner out and soap off, turn off water and you still have an overflow. The pump to clear the shower and the toilet is very loud, it reverberates throughout the studio. The staircase needs a balustrade, and you have to leave the light on all night in the bathroom so as not to fall down the stairs. We would also suggest in the future they consider installing a frosted window in the window gap in the wall and a door between the kitchen landing and studio living area to conserve energy (as the cool air takes longer to work being able to escape down the stairs) and reduce noise..

😊: Very beautiful and spacious loft, well equipped with both air conditioner and a fan, good window blinds, tv with streaming platforms at the disposal. 😢: Not possible to open any windows as they were part of the roof, all the plants were plastic. The checkout is very early (10am) and checkin is quite late as well (17pm). Feels like the renovation weren’t totally finished in the building..
