If you are looking for peace and tranquility, this little cottage has everything you need for a wonderful holiday - the photos do not do it justice. Papillon is perfect for a couple - but also has a good sized 2nd (twin ) bedroom and single mezzanine - allowing sleeping for up to 5. It is adequately equipped with the benefit of UK TV and good WiFi The pool is fabulous and the views breathtaking! Craig and Lizette are wonderful hosts and always on hand to recommend restaurants , places to go etc - always helpful when you’re not familiar with an area. We had the most wonderful time; would love to return . We recommend without hesitation.

Nicely converted old farm building, 2 spacious bedrooms for 4 people, with additional single bedroom in mezzanine area (although access is a bit tricky - v narrow steep stairs). Sufficiently equipped kitchen area, despite being a bit small. Lizette is a friendly and welcoming host with many recommendations for visiting the area and eating out. Very pleasant, good-size pool shared with next-door holiday rental, along with other fantastic facilities for all the family : pingpong, badminton, pool table, trampoline and zipwire. Made the most of all this and also enjoyed visiting the area - Brantome, Perigueux, Grotte de Villars, Bourdeilles, Etang de la Jemaye ... you do have to travel quite a bit as local amenities are limited although we highly recommend the bakery in Montagrier @ 5 Km. Animal-lovers can also appreciate the company of the dogs, cats and horses. Thanks for everything, Lizette and Craig

We had a great start of our holidays here. Enjoying the lovely environment and relaxing at the pool gave us a a well deserved rest. You can easily explore the countryside and surroundig villages like Brantome, Riberac and Perigeux. Liz and Craig were very friendly hosts and gave us good suggestions for things to do and restaurants to go to.

This was our first time in the area although we have been in rural France many times. We were lucky being off season the other property was empty so we had the pool area to ourselves. Lizette is a wonderful host, on hand if you need something, but leaves you to it if want to relax. The weather was kind so we went walking every day, there are so many walks in easy reach. Coming back for a swim in the heated pool was fabulous. Our dog made firm friends with Poppy the resident Jack Russell and they spent ages playing together. We would definitely recommend staying here if it's a rural holiday you want.

A wonderful stay at Papillon. Not only were we blessed with good weather but we had the perfect location to explore the beautiful area. I great welcome from Lizette who was always on hand if needed and who gave us lots of recommendations for eating and visiting. We would definitely recommend this wonderful Dordogne getaway! We had a fantastic week in Grand Brassac. The location was great, peaceful and rural but close enough to interesting places nearby to visit. (We visited caves, a lake and went canoeing in Brantome.) Lizette was a wonderful host, welcoming and very helpful. The gite had everything we needed and the facilities, pool, zip wire, table tennis pool table bikes etc were perfect for our family (children aged 10 and 13). Many thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Grand Brassac. The property was very clean and tidy and Lizette and Craig were excellent hosts and always available when needed. The facilities on site (pool, zip wire, table tennis, bikes etc.) were a real plus as there was always something to do on rest days. The nearby canoeing and horse riding (detailed in the property information provided) were both excellent and good value for money. The local area is very beautiful with lots of interesting villages and small towns to visit.

Gite was a good size with everything you needed, the hosts were also excellent making you feel at home. The pool, Zip-wire for our son was an added bonus great time had by all. The weather wasn’t great but didn’t spoil our week. Many thanks
