😊: The location was spectacular: a quiet road near a busy square in Carcassonne, with various restaurants from the traditional to the quirky, plus two Irish pubs! The property was 3 minutes away from this square, excellent for resting undisturbed in between walks and meals. The studio flat is really accessible, very private (one can hardly hear the neighbours). The instructions for self-check-in were clear. The WiFi has a solid signal. Tasteful decor. Plenty of toilet paper. There's shampoo and cream in a strong, hot shower. I had an issue with one of the ingress doors in the building. Contacting Hedi, the property manager, was simple. He was very responsive, and the problem was sorted within minutes. I'll be back.. 😢: The window shutters are made of charmingly old wooden panels, common in the Mediterranean. You will see plenty of them in town. For those unfamiliar with them, they may look awkward. The important thing is not to fight them, not to force them open or close. To close them, go gently yet firmly, until the panels are flush with each other, then tug, swivel the handle, make sure the hooks at the top and bottom lock properly, then slide the handle behind the latch. To open them, push lightly as they may feel a bit stuck, and you're done..
