Confortable , appartement, proximité, vue sur la cité de Carcassonne, Aude

The website does not do justice to this property. It's better in person. The view from all the windows is of the castle. The image on the website is not a painting, it's the actual view out the kitchen window. Similar to the views out the living room and bedrooms. The apartment is in the back part of the building, meaning there is zero street noise. Only the sound of birds if you open the windows.The apartment is part of a large stone building that dates from the 12th century in the cellar to the 17th century on the higher levels. The owner has updated the unit to 21st century luxury while keeping many of the original stone features.The kitchen had everything such as stove, oven, microwave, juicer, coffee maker, expresso machine, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, etc.The location is easily walk-able to both the castle and city, with several excellent restaurants a few meters away. If's outside of, but in between, the crowded tourist zone of the castle and the bustle of the city. Perfect location.Overall, I give it the highest marks possible for location, cleanliness, views, and host friendliness / helpfulness.

The place and the hosts are great. I have stayed in many VRBOs and given 5 star reviews, so I wish I could give this one 6 stars. Fred was great, he picked me up at the train station, then gave a full tour of the place. He then went on to give me a map (in English) and describe all the sites, when they were open, and how to get there. The view of the city from all the windows is amazing and the night view of the castle wall can't be beat. Small shop to get necessities are right next door, and plenty of cafes and restaurants in walking distance. No need for a car unless you are leaving Carcassonne. If I am ever in Carcassonne again, this apartment is definitely where I will stay.

Hyper calme et une vue enchanteresse sur la cité médiévale. Nous y avons passés une excellente semaine :) Allez-y en toute sérénité!

The views and location were great. It's like living in a five star apartment. Fred and Delphine were very accommodating, Fred took us and our suitcases to the train station. This is the best apartment we have found during our 7 weeks of travel.
