Dans le Val de Loire gîte le Chardonnay

A really quiet and peaceful location. The local town of Amboise is only 4 miles away, it has 2 markets a week where you can buy most anything and of course the Château Royal d'Amboise is well worth a visit. Other châteaux on the Loire are within easy reach. The river Loire was well below its normal level (August '22) so no boat trips for us. If you like white wine then Montlouis is just down the road. The gîte was clean, tidy, very quiet and has a fridge freezer, ideal for the hot weather we had.

Spacious property in a quiet location. Children enjoyed playing in the large garden. Easy access to the Loire a Velo.

For two of us the property was fine but had there been four it would have been difficult in that there was only I sofa and hanging space was limited to a rail downstairs. The property was well equipped but there were no sharp knives. It is ideally situated to visit chateaux in the region and vineyards and it was great to sit out in the grounds in the evening and relax after a busy day. The local railway line has a good service to lager towns in the region. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

A lovely two bedroom gite, set in beautiful surroundings. The facilities were excellent with washing machine etc in the kitchen. The owners left us some of their chickens eggs for breakfast which were delicious and were very helpful giving us advice on what we could see in our two days in the region. Peacocks and peahens roamed the grounds. Idyllic!

This place is a gem. Madame Rose has so many nice touches around the place from greeting guests with a bowl of chocolates to having a thoughtfully well-stocked guest house complete with hairdryer, 2 clothes drying racks with hangers, a towel warmer in the bath, freshener in the bathroom, sugar, paper towels and even a potty seat for a baby. A nice touch was that the guest house came complete with bath towels and bed sheets which was not the case at another gite we rented. Thanks so much for all these lovely touches. I wish we had had more time to look around and walk the grounds.
